Metropolitan Police (London)

Hi. Is there an up to date list of boroughs and 2 digit identifier eg MD Southwark etc? Thanks

The Met right now are recruiting till 18th of July Community Assessors for day one. http://www.metpolicecareers.co.uk/policestaff/community_assessors.html This fits well with the Met plan to start external recruitment application process from the 26th of July. This gives the Met time for when day one starts. The Met will have all of August to train the assessors. I don't understand why the Met is recruiting Community Assessors again. They did a recruitment advertisement of this Febuary that went, before internal recruitment began in March for MSC and PCSOs. Are those who were recruited leaving? The good news is external recruitment is getting close.

Hi all, I've booked on to a refresher course as required and as this is my first refresher was wondering if anyone knew what we do at these refresher courses? I was told it is 6 hours and to bring my belt kit minus the CS. Is it similar to what we done in OST training? also are we tested again with the pull&push and bleep test?

I am someone who wants to join the Met as an external. I have noticed that the 4 interactive role plays are now 10 mins each. I have done the search before in Ryton with the 4 interactive exercises, but at 5 mins each. I thought this was the most difficult part, now its just got a lot harder. I have a pass mark that I think is acceptable for the Met, so hopefully I can use this. What do you think folks? Even with 'positive action' for BME this is still a hard process.

Why does someone have to be a Londoner to be a PC in the Met?

Has anyone opted for a distance learning CKP? If so, how does it work and what is the timescale?

Hiya guys, I start training very soon to become a special with the Met. Does anyone know what too expect on the first day of training? (I am doing the 1 day a week course) Thank you!

Just a hyperthetical question, if there were a serving SC with IPS and several years service who wanted to become a PC would they still need to do 2 yrs on the beat before specialising? Ie into RPU,TSG if posts were free. Please set aside the CKP etc etc answers

Hi all! As everyone is aware recuitment this summer is set to start.... My question is, I am a probationer within my first year so I can not apply internally. When I call the registration line, they state I have to refer to People Pages who confirm I can not apply through internal process. So is this a basic restriction on anyone within the Met in their first year service, can not apply? I was under the impression anyone can apply externally? Are people who register interest the only people who can apply or isit going to be an open recruitment drive on the Met website? Cheers! Another thing... What kind of questions are they asking for pre application telephone c…

Ddo recruitment starts again, check it out on the met careers website

Do any PCs make use of the key worker housing benefits that are available? Are they any good? Are DDO's eligable to key worker benefits? I looked on the HMRC site and it just says some police staff are eligable. Thanks Double post. Sorry.

Hiya, I was just curious as to whether the Thursday training course would be run any different to the Saturday or Sunday course? I thought this could be possible because maybe it isn't as busy? Thanks for any answers

Good Morning. I've looked on the MPS website but can't see an email/phone number to register interest for PC summer recruitment drive, does anyone know how to register interest?

http://www.london.gov.uk/sites/default/files/mopac%20challenge%20-%20the%20journey%20we%20are%20on.pdf Does anyone have any idea where people can study for the MPS Value Assessment, and Situational Judgement Test? Sadly there is no mention of a study guide anywhere. Some people think if you fail the VA and SJT, you may not be able to progress to the next stage. I hope not but If this is true, surely there must be some preperation people can do. The police qualification will have been a waste of money and time if I am and some others are unable to even fill an application just because we failed an assessment. Application CBQ and SEARCH assessment is difficult enough, I …
