I was given a list of dates I can attend to catch up on training. Do I have to contact them before turning up? If so, is there a minimum amount of notice to give. I've had to wait to find out if I can get annual leave so the notice I'd provide is just a day or two.

Anyone else starting their training on Sunday (9th) at Hendon? I'm getting excited now! It also says I'll be doing most of my training at Bethnal Green. Chosen borough is Hackney.

Well... My colleague has just enrolled on the April training course to become a PC after being successful on the graduate scheme. They had the pleasure of being spoken to by the commissioner who stated that he intends to recruit 5000 externals next year for PC positions. It was questioned why the specials route was not being used to which the commissioner stated they wished to recruit a more diverse talent pool. Very interesting, lets hope its sooner rather then later =]

Hi all. I have heard a lot from this forum about the new CKP requirement the MET are supposedly enforcing when they recruit PCs externally. However I cannot find anything to back this up. Is there any website with this information on. Thanks. .

All, Can anyone provide any idea as to what the MSC is planning for 2013 training opportunities. What are the dates of the 'intensive' full time courses and hybrid courses this year? I appreciate this information may not be redly available. Thanks.

Hi all I'm trying to work out if we are assessed on harassment as part of KEE2. It is not on the subject list for the exam as a stand alone subject but wondered if it featured as a part of hate crime etc. can anyone remember from their KEE2? Cheers HD

Im currently revising for my KEE 1 for the coming Saturday. Ive been using my notes and BTACS (which is really good by the way!) and I'm slightly confused on a part. According to BTACS we say the caution +2 but at training we were told its the caution +3. Can anyone clarify on which one it is? Caution +2 ; You do not have to say anything.... Followed by you are not under arrest and you are free to leave OR Caution +3 ; You do not have to say anything.... Followed by you are not under arrest, you are free to leave and you are entitled to free legal advice Thanks!!

What's your view on the baton holder issued to specials? I ask because I don't think it's fit for purpose and is potentially a safety issue. The holder that we were issued is very flimsy and is made of soft plastic, now when you put this on your belt and then your baton inside, it is nearly impossible to draw as it sticks to the holder. The grip on the baton rubs against the holder and you cannot cross draw or even straight draw. Now this question is from the point of view that we should be using what we are issued as otherwise we could get into trouble if something happens, then shouldn't we be issued with fit for purpose kit?

Finally managed to successfully complete my training, and will now attest tomorrow! So excited to joining the force. And the PS forum is quite the most useful and friendly. I have actually learned more here then on my training lol...(I am not knocking down the training the MPS gives by the way, they were amazing)

So as you may or may not be aware I'm a response PC and Ex-Special, and as such I feel I had to bring this little incident up even though my colleagues didn't seem too bothered by it. Picture the scene. 2nd nightshift, 4th 12+ hour shift. Call to a bar brawl between a group of females. We rock up in our response vehicle, the pub doors are locked up. I bang on the door and a few seconds later it opens. The scene in front of me astounds me, inside are 2 MSC who I'd not heard on the radio at all, between these two feuding groups looking as befuddle as I felt. I'd asked them what had happened and all I got was "There's been a fight". I'm no Sherlock Holmes but this I could…

Hi all, Have received the confirmation letter for the training start date. It refers me to the MSC Training website. I have logged in and had a look could anyone offer any direction as to exactly what parts of what forms need to be printed off, signed and taken in? Thanks.
