Hey guys, Just a quick one really. I'm set to go to Hendon for my first training day of 23 tomorrow (being 12/01/2014). My query being about my dress code. My confirmation letter states to wear smart business attire but does this mean a full suit or will I get away with shoes, trousers, shirt, tie and a smart plain round neck jumper to keep me warm. Thanks

I read on Twitter today that @MPSSpecials have announced a Transferee campaign to join the Met Specials. http://www.metpolicecareers.co.uk/specials/becoming-a-special-candidate-experienced_specials.html Hopefully this will attract some experience into the ranks. Lots of other forces have done this recently, too. As a Met Special, I can only see this to be a good thing. What do you think?

So, I've received my official offer letter today, so I'm really really excited for that! I'm due to start the Hybrid course on 13th January and will be posted to Redbridge. I've been told to report to the Peel Centre at Hendon for 9 o'clock sharp on the 13th, but after that I'm told I'll be at Bethnal Green for the reminader of the 2 week, yet initially I was told 6 days at Hendon and 4 elsewhere. Can anybody shed some light on this, as to how it works? I know it'll all be explained on the induction day, but I'm the sorta person who wants to know everything before diving in Also, what happens during the 2 weeks, do you do the more practical stuff like OST and ELS? Hello, I have been working in the Haringay borough as a special for a little while now but recently got a job around the same area. There are many people I want to avoid from work while doing a shift, I seem to work with lots of anti police. (Should have expected it working in Tottenham) I was just wondering if it is easy to switch to another borough? Has anyone else done this? Evening, so starting of this topic with; What happened next? I heard (through the grapevine) that these officers was either suspended or sacked, yet I can't believe everything I hear so curiosity getting the better of me.... I thought I would ask on here instead. Hopefully it is not true, because this great Police/Communities relations and we should see more interaction like this with the MOP. So, can someone help with my curiosity?

I've recently been given a provisional offer as a PC with the Mighty Met for next year and got my postings request form today. The new system of choosing 'clusters' of three boroughs is very cunning! I've been thinking of putting down: -Camden, Westminster and Islington (Camden being the preference as I don't live too far away) as my first choice. -Hammersmith & Fulham, Ken & Chelsea and Wandsworth as my second choice. -Harrow, Barnet & Brent as my third. Hi All, Noticed a similar question but regarding MSC to PC and didn't get many replies. I'm hoping to join the regulars, currently in the application process, waiting on a day 1 date. Might be jumping the gun but very worried about my sickness record - Last 2 years in work I've had around 40 days off work! Due to 2 freak accidents now completely resolved - no chance of repetition or side-effects. All backed up by medical evidence and in the preceding 3 years I had 2 days off total. Hi guys, I ordered myself a new baton holder as the ones we are issued with are, well.... just crap. It's the 21" Monadnock friction lock batons we use right? If not, then well, going to have to send the holder back. I got it in the post today and I do say, it does look quite small but then again, I wont be able to try out until I'm next on shift, which is Saturday.
