Metropolitan Police (London)

Hi guys, With much though and consideration I have decided that I would like to change boroughs, Has anyone got any advice/knowledge in how to go about doing this? I'm currently midway through my SOROC book, Would it be worth staying on to get my IPS? Thanks

Just wondering if it's possible to go on the graduate scheme if I entered through normal route? I am still an early proby going through Hendon and I noticed I recently became eligible due to change in requirements. As for Hdps, when can we start applying and what are the requirements? They didn't seem very specific on people pages or I just missed it, still trying to learn to use Aware properly. Thank you.

Hi guys, Roughly, how long did it take you to become IPS from when you started your SOROC book? How many hours were you doing?

Hi I am currently a serving SC and am on an improvement plan within my force, will this affect me getting into the MET, I have my Day 1 in March and confident in passing. But will being on an improvement plan reduce my chances, it is not a disciplinary but an improvement plan is my impression. In the vetting documents sent from MET would an improvement plan fit into this question: Have you ever been admonished, offered formal advice, received words of advice, written warnings, or been found guilty of a discipline offence, or had action taken against you under any discipline code by any employer, regulatory or professional body? Would I include this in my application…

Can anybody tell me what Wandsworth borough is like in general? good for specials? If I come up with any specific questions later. I will ask. Feel free to PM

All, I registered my interest for the Met Police at the beginning of last week to find that I have failed the eligibility test and cannot go any further due to me selecting 'yes' to 'Are you currently a serving Police Officers in the UK with another Police Force?" - I'm after some clarification really as I thought that despite being a Special Constable ('Police Officer') that you could apply for the role of new Constable with the Met Police providing that you wasn't a current SC with the MET. I have emailed HR and had no end of luck as they haven't got back to me and it has gone past the 10 day marker. I have also tried ringing various numbers from constables within …

I have always been curious as to what the Staff Officers to for the SLT of the MSC. Is it much the same as for Borough Commanders etc?

What is all this R5 and R1 I keep hearing on the main channel?

Hi again, hope I'm not cluttering up the forum. I had a look for something here on this but to no avail, so I decided to post it. So, I have the pre-day 2 paperwork and I'm OK with most of it. My question is on the part about referees. The form states that personal referees must be people who've known you for five years, are professionals and are not family or close friends. I am really struggling with this because I don't have anyone who'd qualify. I moved to the south last year and the only people I knew where I used to live who'd qualify were my (rarely visited) GPs. Anyone else would be a close friend. I plan on giving HR a call to query this. I remember a previous …

Hi Just wondered if anyone could let me know if there was any/much parking at Sutton police station? I'm also very good at keeping secrets if there are any nearby that might be going unnoticed :D (Not likely!) Thanks

If I don't get the opportunity to do the secure ncalts before I attest due to work/uni/job applications would I get the chance nipping down to my posted police station after attestation to do it ? I know I've been told to do certain ones but the secure ones haven't been mentioned. Any help would be great thanks.

Does anyone here work for CCC, if so what is it like? Do you get enough time off (if you are a SC) - and whats the pay like because it isnt exactly clear or perhaps I just dont understand it. Also does 20% shift allowance mean 20% of your final salary? sorry rushing the questions (late for work clocks broken)

About to join as a reg at BS and going through the MSC to PC course in March, just wondered what any regs thought of the borough, whats coached patrol like, where did you do your training etc etc.

Hi guys and girls! Appologies in advance if asked before. My OST expired this month, I'm Booked to do the refresher on the 25th. Do I have to re-do the whole thing now that it's expired or do I just carry on as usual obviously without doing shifts until complete. Thanks!

Hey all, I'm due to attest on the 29th, The sheet we've been given doesn't really give a prooper break down on the day, Does anyone know what actually happens? Cheers
