Has anyone else found that now that we have so many levels of MSC Grades that it becomes a game of Chinese whispers but no one seems to actually accept responsibility for a decision? I get different stories about the same incident/project depending on who I talk to. Very confusing for me. M Grade: A/MSC Sgt Rank: SC

Hi all! I have been notified by Expedia that a credit check was run on me under the name "Association of Chiefs" which I understand is from my recruitment vetting. I'm about 3 months into my vetting now (police staff position) so from the experience of others, was the credit check done on you in the middle/near the end of your vetting and how long after it did you hear that you had passed vetting? (I understand things may be done in different order dependant on force/the person) just trying to get a rough idea Thanks in advance!

Afternoon all I am set to start training on Tuesday 27th May and have been allocated Hendon as my training centre. I was wondering if anyone knows if recruits/trainee pc's are allowed to park within the grounds of Hendon while training there? Do we just turn up and speak to the security on the day to be let in or do we have to make prior arrangements? I did ask HR but they told me I would have to ask recruitment but they would not give me a phone number or put me through to recruitment which was strange. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi guys, I underwent the Day 1 PC SEARCH assessment centre in March in the SC - PC campaign. Unfortunately, even though I passed the assessment centre on a national level and also attained the Met's overall score pass mark, I failed because I achieved 52% in Working with others and didn't get the 55% as required! I know, it's gutting knowing that I missed out by 3%. This is my score breakdown: Overall - 55% Written communication - 67% Oral Communication - 100% Working with others - 52% I was wondering whether I can appeal this and possibly get a re-mark. does anyone know if this is possible or not? Hi, Can any body help? I applied for the DDO role and the closing date was the 24th of April? On the recruitment page it stated week commencing on the 26th of may they will be assessment days? Does any body know when they will let us know about if we where successful ? Or has any body else been informed a week before there assessment day?? Thanks All

Does anyone know if the Met would take into consideration family commitments etc when it comes to postings. If so does anyone think they would let you know if your going to say 1 of 3 postings/Boroughs or even tell you which one before joining as I've heard people aren't finding out until 2-3 weeks into course which sounds crazy for those with kids/married/childcare issues to plan for. Thoughs/advice anyone??

Hey guys, I'm currently a special and I applied for MSC - PC just shy of one month ago. Within two weeks I received an email back informing me of a day 1 date. My day 1 date was today and I'm not going to lie, it was probably one of the most mentally draining days I've ever had! I'm so tired now its unreal! On top of that, I'm absolutely bricking it that I've failed! Maybe because I want this job so badly? I don't know. Maybe I've done well but I just don't see it that way. I suppose at the end of the day, everybody who wants something badly thinks they've done bad when being assessed for it right? Hi all, I am due to attest this Sunday (11th May), I am struggling to get the backs in the shoulder numbers when putting them on my tunic. Are they supposed to go on there or can you just push the numbers into the shoulder padding?

I've got my Day 1 there tomorrow. Does anybody know if there's ample parking at the building or nearby? Would I be better off using public transport? I'm coming from Surrey.

Ventures into deepest darkest Met Land tonight for a beer after work. The SIA door staff demanded ID, I presented DL, they then attempted to scan and take a copy of of DL on the door, on a fully networked terminal, which I objected to immediately. They said it was for "health and safety" in " event of fire". Anyone else come across this? Bensonby is was close to your part of the world.

Does anybody have a telephone number for msc online helpdesk or something similar? I'm trying to look into an issue with the system and need to talk to somebody with a high level of access. thanks in advance

What should I put in the additional criteria section on the CCC application form? I say I, but it's not for me, was just asked by a friend who is applying.
