Hi All, I recently registered interest as a Met PC, then completed the realistic Job preview and eligibility screening assessment. this was probably about 2 weeks or so ago now and I haven't heard anything more on what to do next? Is this normal, or should I be looking for what to do next?

At which stage of the vetting process is a reference check made? I got copied-in emails to my Uni and references sent by Met HR. Should I crack open the bubbly now as it means I've passed the dreaded vetting or is it too soon?

I've recently been given my training dates and been told my posting is Westminster (3rd Choice). I was wondering what Westminster is like for Specials as I know so boroughs can be really bad for MSC. I heard one case were an SC attested in November and still hadn't been contacted by the borough by February. I really don't want to be somewhere were I won't feel like I'm wanted/needed. As far as I know I can request a change if I need to - my first choice was Ealing.

Just a quick question guys, have looked everywhere for this answer... Do you get paid during your initial met police training? Or does it only start from when your officially day 1 on the beat? Thanks

Hope everyone is well. I have had a final written warning from work nearly 10 months ago now for 'bad time keeping' basically. On the vetting questions, it asks about disciplinary's you've had. Is it better to be open and honest 100% about it all? And will it reflect badly on me in the long run? Or will they take it as a minor part of my whole application and still judge me on everything else? Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone. Looking for some advice I'm in the process of completing my application for the role of Police Constable. I have reached the section about declaring previous convictions etc. Now personally I don't have any convictions but I have recently been the victim of incidents which the police successfully prosecuted the offenders. I have in total 3 separate incidents where I was the victim all in the last year or so. Yes bad year Now would I need to declare this information as the application reads "any involvement with police needs to be declared. Is this something you guys would declare or shall I ring vetting and ask the question. Thanks guys any help would …

Hello everyone. Start training on the 28th July. I haven't previously worked in the Met like many others and don't have any uniform or anything like that. I don't want to obviously go in casual so is everyone thinking shirt, trousers and shoes? I know this sounds a bit random but obviously want to stand out for the right reasons, not the wrong. Thanks.

Just wondering if there is anyone with experience working on Lambeth who can answer a few questions. I'm thinking of doing Lambeth. Can anyone from Lambeth help me?: Are they flexible with hours? Weekend duties? I might only do the odd Fri night and Saturday or Sunday. What kind of duties do they offer? Just SNT ? Response? Others? Jailer Duty? What courses are on offer? Driving Course? Method of Entry? PNC via MDT? PNC via Aware? I'm thinking of rejigging my Borough Choices for Specials. I don't feel comfortable living and working in XB. I'd rather do somewhere else

I am currently doing my specials training and I have opted to go to Bexley when I get out on borough. I have since been told that Bexley is a very quiet borough and just wondered if anyone was currently working there and what their option of this borough is. I can't decide whether to stick with Bexley or whether to try and change my borough to Greenwich. Just want some opinions on what borough will be best. Thanks.

So this is a question aimed at our friends in TD or RPU... What methods of disposal are not available to borough officers, or officers without specific Traffic training (whether Regs or MSC) when dealing with traffic offences? And what other options would be available, aside from requesting traffic to attend? Obviously things like No Insurance, DNIA and the like can be dealt with by way of a FPN, but other methods such as; VDRS, S.59 warning, CLE2/6...etc etc Also, just out of curiosity, lets say you stopped someone for defective light and chose to give the driver a verbal warning, "Please make sure you sort that out...." type of thing. Would it be worth/useful/reasona…

Hi all, Just wondering what the timescales are like for PC's attaining driving in the met? What types of driving tickets are available and the prerequisites for them. Also what the differences are like between borough's getting courses.

I start my Training at Hendon on July 20th and I just feel so nervous and I don't understand why. I think it's probably just a mix of excitment and nerves. Is anyone else on this training day? What should I expect on my first induction day? maybe if I know what to expect then it might relex me. I'm on the Sunday course and am sooo excited to get started as I have had so many set backs in my recrutment process. What should I make sure that I buy or bring along? Any tips? I know i'm probably being a little bit of a worrier but I just like to be prepared Thanks in advance

Hello All, Long time reader first time poster. As the title suggests I'm looking for some information on both Lambeth and Southwark. I looked at the Borough Links and both pages are missing. I have put Southwark as my brough of choice as I live in Lambeth and as some of the other topics suggested that I shouldn't pick my home borough. Any serving Officers that can provide some information about what they are like to work in and what the Special Integration/Opportunities for Specials are like? Also it would be great if any serving officers can give me info on how to arrange a ride along with any of the two boroughs. Any information given is much appreciated and feel fr…

Just a straw poll to find out how many Specials there are out there who are 40 or above? I am and wondered what representation was like across London boroughs. Most of my colleagues certainly seem to be ranging from early 20s to early / mid 30s. More younger than older though. Cheers.
