Metropolitan Police (London)

So since January I've been in the process of becoming a Comms Officer only now to be told the process has been frozen indefinitely due to changes within the MET. Anything to do with this - http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/arms-giant-wins-scotland-yard-contract-to-improve-999-system-9648791.html ?

Just to confirm, If I did my OST/ELS at training school in March/14. As long as I complete a refresher before Dec, I will still be in date? I was under the impression that OST 1 was Jan-June and OST 2 was towards the end of the year, which could mean that there was around 11 months between dates but the officer is still in date. Thank you all,

Hi guys, I am a new applicant for the met police and just passed my day 2 assessment and hve nearly completed my ckp. As I am getting closer to joining I have started thinking more about the day-to-day life as a police constable. I was wondering about the shift hours that the met police use? I have searched the forums but could only find old posts that I am not sure if still accurate. I am assuming it is still the 2 early, 2 late, 2 night system? I believe that the hours also vary from station to station? The reason I am asking is for travelling purposes. I currently live just outside of north london and was hoping to be use public transport (train and tube) to get t…

Just wondering who is going to earls court this wednesday for the first set of interviews. Good luck to you all

Helllooooo, I have a SEARCH pass from Sept. 2013, anybody have any idea if Met recruitment will accept this? If so what would I have left to do in the process? I have over 3yrs of Special service with another force also, does this negate the need for that pointless/extortionate CKP thing? Cheers

OH NO! Another CKP thread.... Yup, this is another CKP thread. HOWEVER, this is the central thread for the CKP. All questions regarding it NEED to be asked in here (only if it's regarding the Metropolitan Police, ofcourse). The moderators have a hard time keeping the Met forum clean as it's one of the busiest forum on PS.com. All the information you need is out there so I have decided to bring it all in here for you. So, let's get started. CKP in general: Information taken from College of Policing website. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------…

All, I've just received my online assessments for the next stage. I have received the following: Police Constable Behavioural Styles Questionnaire Police Constable Situational Judgement Test Complete the London Factor Assessment The only problem is that I've received the London Factor Assessment twice- I thought that this was unusual and I have only completed one of the assessments. Is this a glitch in the system? My friend who is going through the process at the same time as me has recieved the exact same. Any info?

Anyone else going to be there?

I have been given a start date for the Met's August PC intake. I'm not from London and will be moving down just beforehand. Does anyone have information on available section houses/ shared police accommodation? Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone. I am looking for two new special sgts in Reading. I am keen to hear from any officers who live near to our border and may be looking for a change in a new force. Reading is Britain's biggest town with one of the busiest stations in the force. We are keen to hear from officers who would like to do reactive, neighbourhood, and traffic operations in Berkshire. Please PM for more information.

Any idea when there will next be a recruitment drive for DDO's or counter officers? Also for MSC, can you apply internally even if you have been in for under 12 months?

Hi guys. I don't know if I'm going deaf but I find it really hard to hear my radio when out and about on foot patrol. Can anyone recommend an ear piece that fits the met airwave radio and where I can get one. Thanks.

Hiya Ecstatic to have come to far despite all the hiccups that saw me having to wait six months to reapply after non-completion of the written test last July (2013). My question is two fold 1. How come I've been offered training dates while awaiting references check and vetting clearance? Ever the pessimist I'm worried sick I may start training only to be kicked out of the course in the worst case scenario. My main anxiety is default payments. 2. Sovereign Gate Richmond: living in North Surrey my nearest training site is this one. Has anyone attended a course there? Was it easy to commute to? Was it a weekend/week day course? Please PM me if you don't want to repl…

Question for any KF specials - at which point did borough get in touch with you during training? It seems like they aren't as proactive as some boroughs, with others in my course already equipped with joining instructions, a line manager and shoulder numbers. If you're wondering we're just about to take KEE2. Any advice on when I can expect an email or any contact? Ta.
