Hello everyone. I'm interested in joining the Kent special constabulary as I currently can't apply to become a full fledged officer (I don't have any A-Levels) and I was wondering what's the likelihood of becoming an officer through being a special? A friend of mine who works for the police told me that it's a good likelihood if you've attained independent patrol status within 2 years and shown a good track record. My dream is to one day be a detective. I'm currently 23 years old, but I left school when I was very young (bad decision) and only hold GCSE's. Also as far as the whole vetting process goes, when I was younger I was dismissed from an employer howeve…

Hello! I've only just found this site (wish I had found it earlier now!) so excuse me if this is in the wrong place I've just completed the interview and written assessment part of the process today. My interview went really really well but my written part I'm panicking about as it threw stuff at me I had never done/experienced before and I reckon I have messed it up. What is the marking like, can I mess up in the written part and still get through if I have done really well in the interview part?

Hi there, I have been to two slection days. One with the met police last year which was for becoming a new constable and one with kent police as a special constable. I failed both selection days. The met was properly based on maths and the role plays. I was gutted but not suprised. Anyway I would of had to shell out cash on the CKP. The point im getting at is Kent polices selection tests for special constable confused me. Its the fact that they dont seem to follow the national framework. For example the met made me take the role of a customer service officer in a fictious centre called windosor or something similiar; I had to write two reports. Kent police actually m…

I am currently going through the application process to become a special in Kent. I am just waiting for a home visit. Can anyone shed some light as to what this involves please. Also the recruitment team said although its formal its not an interview, so is it a shirt an tie occasion or just something smart casual. Bit strange for be as never had a home visit before. At least when I attend formal occasions out I know what to wear and expect. thanks

I was wondering can you apply for both at the same time? I know Specials recruitment is picky, and Im not sure id pass the interviews, so I want apply as a volunteer as well as a back up. Is that allowed for Kent?

So, I'm at the point in my life, where i have free time to give up and join as a special, however I'd like to experience a ride along before fully committting. Does anyone know,if Kent Police offer ride alongs and if so, who would I talk to?
