Hey there! This may seem like an absolutely ridiculous thread, but I am going to post it anyway. For the hair drug test, I assume they use your head hair and I was going to have my hair cut short to look smart when I turn up for my medical, would this be allowed or would I have to have it cut after because it's a bit messy at the moment and I want to look smart! Cheers,

Is anyone waiting for training at Maidstone? I was asked if I could attend a list of dates starting from 11th April. Had my home visit so just waiting to hear back from vetying. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hey PS! I have been wondering that as a Special, do you just turn up at the station and choose how many hours you want to do that day, or are your hours pre-planned the week before so you know what hours and days you are working? If so, are you unable to just phone up and say "Can I do X amount of hours today" or something similar. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day!

Hello Police Specials, As a young adult (18 and a bit years old) I was wondering if this will affect the application process at all? I know that they don't mind what age you are to join the Specials but I was wondering are there many Police Specials who are 18-19 years old? I hope it doesn't because I have applied and I am 18. Cheers.

Hey PS, yes it's me again - with YET another question... For the written exam, what does it consist of? And are the questions difficult? I achieved overall a C in English and a C in Mathematics so hopefully I shouldn't find the written assessments difficult (if I ever get that fair in the recruitment process) And when I was at the recruitment evening for the specials, they say the medical can get a bit 'intimate' so I was wondering if they check your prostate or something? (I thought you had to be around 40 to have it checked by the GP) Anyway, thanks for reading. Cheers.

Hello again PS! I apologise for all these threads, I'll be sure to quieten down soon... But was only requiring do they check any social media accounts? I'm finding all of my old accounts and it's hilarious and embarrassing on what I write! I don't have anything to hide at all but do they check social media at all? Cheers!

Hello All, I have finally submitted my application in order to join the Special Contables (Woohoo!!) but I have one question, I am really sure that there was NOT an option in the application form for a 'Reason for application', I looked and double checked everything but I did not see that box. There were the competence questions which I completed, but I log-in after I submitted my application just to see what it's current status is, Screenshot - Couple of questions - 1) Why is the application from field empty where I filled out ALL the fields 2) Where did you find the 'Reason for Application' because for me it was nowhere to be seen. I emailed recruitment to ask…
