Where to start. Sum up, I've been fantastically stupid. Using a private network at a business to conduct research into my ongoing law enforcement training. Plugging my memory stick containing a couple GB of my private notes into their computer. I went to create an account, log in, on a law enforcement related forum a week ago. Forum stated I was logged in but only given guest access. Inquiry was not responded to. By chance I went through their registered members list last night and came across my name. I understand you can use section 17 to enter a premises to arrest someone for an indictable offence, but does this include either way offences? for example a police officer is in pursuit of a shoplifter, the shoplifter lives across the road and runs in to his house. Can the police officer enter to make the arrest?

Hi all I am currently a prospective police officer applicant, I have suffered with car sickness for a huge amount of time and am wondering if anybody currently serving or going through the application process suffers from the same problem? It worries me how I would cope for long periods of time on patrol in a car. If anybody does suffer from this condition is their any advice you can offer? I understand that this sounds like a pathetic problem but the severity of it is epic. I have sough GP advice in the past and they have advised that there is nothing that they can do. Any info/support is welcomed for this. Thanks.

Appologies in advance if this is in the wrong area. I am about to commence my training at Tulliallan in Scotland for Police Scotland. I know that as a new recruit I must complete a 2 year probation period, which will involve tests throughout the 2 years. After completing my 2 year probation, what qualification (if any) do I recieve? I have asked about and been told different stories, varying from "I dunno", "its equivalent to a Scottish higher" and "its equivalent to a HNC course". Can anyone help clarify this? Basically I would like some advice here please. My fiancé and I have split up and although I have most of my belongings uplifted from her house, there are a few more things I still need to pick up. I have tried to contact her to ask when I can collect these but she has ignored all of my phone calls/texts. However, just yesterday I managed to get through to her and she says she will not allow me to collect my things because apparently I owe her money (which I do not) and will not let me get them until she has the money. What I want to know is what can I do from a legal point of view to recover my property from her house? Thanks

Currently there are talks for Specials to be involved in CID and to gain accreditation in PIP and gain the title S/DC Not a huge amount of information available unfortunately. Thoughts? Anyone know a Special who has PIP Level 2?

I'm currently as serving SC, but had been requested to have another hearing test done, since I've taken on new hearing aids. Prior to joining the job, I was tested the standard way and an extended field test was done also. I passed the extended field test with no concerns. I was having an interesting conversation with my Dad in regards to special constables being issued tasers. I thought I would share it with you to see the opinions of others. So of course a taser is a form (all be it extreme) of PPE (personal protective equipment) deployed in situations where all other resolution has failed and threat is imminent. It is widely recognised that special constables have the same powers and responsibilities as there regular counterparts and so would be faced with the same hazards and challenges. So why is it specials do not have access to the same level of PPE as regulars if the risks and responsibilities are the same? Surely this falls …

As per the photo - link above to SC Chief Officer's twitter - the SC crown features as well. The SC crown only features on rank eppaulettes and won't be on SC eppaulettes for "integration" reasons. Although I personally wouldn't want to wear chevrons or stripes as a special, I like the sound of some other things that Durham are doing, such as requiring you to sit exams for promotion similar to the regulars. Just wanted to discuss if this scenario would be a 9.1a or 9.1b offence as I've heard differing opinions. A woman is in a fast food restaurant and orders a meal. When the fast food employee turns his back and walks away from the till the woman leans over the counter, takes a burger and leaves the restaurant. Is this a 9.1a or b offence?

Came across this on the internet http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/11/11/police-force-considers-bringing-back-iconic-hat-to-help-short-of/ says that Thames valley police may bring back their custodians which I think is a good idea and a step in the right direction. has anybody heard further details about this and if it is actually going to happen or not. It's funny that this is happening as Thames valley completely mocked these hats back in 2008 and in 2016 they want them back
