An ex-employee was let go back in December 2020 due to alarming threats to other employees. We know the ex-employee has mental health issues, they were getting out of hand as he often made references to harming (and on rare occasions kill) LGBT & black people. He was employed for more than a year and only stayed because he was good at his job until his threats became increasingly worrying to the point we had to let him go. Might be a silly one but I can't find a power of entry in order to arrest someone for breach of court bail, that being to abide by a curfew using a GPS tag. The closest power I can find is under s.17 PACE, which carries a power of entry to arrest someone unlawfully at large. I've seen some amendments might take place at some point - clause 52 of s.17 is proposed to carry a power of entry to arrest for breach of pre- or post- sentence court bail breaches but it doesn't appear to be law yet. Can anyone clarify whether we have a power of entry if we know 100% someone who has breached their tag curfew is inside their home address?

So the law says now they can enter premises if they suspect a breach, but can they force entry?

It's a bit of a dry subject but could have an impact on operational policing. A high court ruling just before christmas involving a Twitter Trolling case has concluded and quashed a conviction under the Communications Act 2003. Hi all, I'm currently cramming for the SPE and have therefore been up to my eyeballs in swathes of immigration legislation. The majority of the powers conferred by S28A - S28H seem to be lifted and amended slightly from the PACE wording which is helpful. However, my question relates to S28F (Entry and Search of Premises following Arrest...) which, again, seems in the majority to be a cut and paste from S18 PACE. I am.hoping someone cam point me in the right direction. Long story short does anyone know the law/caselaw/codes of practice which says even though Criminal Damage that is less than £5000 will only go to magistrates court it is still treated as either way for other PACE powers such as power of entry. It might be linked to theft as that is similar.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I saw something in the news recently which sparked some vague memory about this Act. Essentially it prohibits people from wearing HM Forces uniform without authority (less stage plays etc). There does seem to be a lot of walts out there, masquerading as something that they are not, not sure if there are protections for other industries etc, medical etc? *See MDP arrested one in 2012 under said act.
