Hi, I help to run a neighbourhood watch in Liverpool. County Road -Walton Village Neighbourhood Watch. It's been going for just over 12 months, we had two pubic meetings last year and the police came to our meetings. December of last year I was told the police would not come to anymore of our meeting until I have been police checked. It took a month to get the form, filled it in sent it of on the 15th January. That's it heard nothing up to now. I was told it would take about 8weeks, tried a lot to find out who I can contact up to now with no luck. This is holding our Neighbourhood Watch up as we want to hold more public meeting with the polic…

Do you think the increase in violent crime during the late 90s and after the National Crime Recording Standard are real increases? After the standard was introduced in 2002, violent crime increased from 705,000 in 2002 to 845,000 in 2004, especially crime against the person. Crime against children according to the crime and justice survey declined from 22% in 2002 to 20% in 2004. Could the statistics be reflecting gang crime? is there any reason not to trust the statistics?

Do you get reminded that carrying weapons in self defence is not acceptable off duty as part of your police training? The reason why I ask because when we are fearful or scared of an attack we often break the law. Are police reminded not to break the law off duty during courses offered at the police college? Especially in police training in police colleges, Such as the police college at bramhill. arming yourself off duty is unacceptable.

If an invasion of the country is about to happen, like the nazi tried to invade in 1939,would citizens demand to have firearms to protect themselves against the invaders like they did prior to the nazis trying to invade or join the Military? some citizens wanted to the government to give them firearms but the government said ‘No’, the best course of action is to join the home guard. The government was afraid of nazi reprisals

Well it realistically would depend on the circumstances, simply saying its illegal could be incorrect in certain circumstances, however such an occurrence would be exceptionally rare. Whats the obsession with this topic? Dear Funkywingnut, What is the obsession? first I’m an American, I’m surrounded by American gun culture. You said, Well it realistically would depend on the circumstances, simply saying its illegal could be incorrect in certain circumstances, however such an occurrence would be exceptionally rare. If at a meeting the chief constables said “This is what we believe and is our viewpoint on the matter”. This was agreed on at the meeting. Does this mean the viewpoint is shared with people of other police ranks lower than chief constables prior to the meeting ? Sorry, for being vague.

Is there a possibility of Rioting in the streets if Brexit does not happen, considering how divisive it really is? In my view, it is definitely a possibility.

I have noticed that pro gun enthusiasts have believed that violence crime is worst in England than the United States because of gun control. They never consider their may be other factors at play, like getting drunk at a pub and violent at 2a.m. Culture may be a factor. Because of this narrow minded thinking, when I explained that not burglars are violent and some are kind,I have even been called a moron because of this. I have read evidence of this. They are brainwashed into believing this. I thought about this today and I felt ill in my stomach what can I do to educate them?

My daughter filmed a fight on a phone I bought her and the phone was took off her by the police, I've spoken to the officer dealing with the case and said I would like the phone returned to me as they haven't had any contact from my daughter or even know where she lives and I would like to decide being her father wether she has the phone back. Anyway its been 6 months and the last message he sent me today said that they will return it to my daughter, god knows when I almost feel like his daughters got a new iPhone 8!! Cost me £800 and she had it a month!!!

Was it necessary to bring smaller police forces into larger forces? Did it make police forces more efficient? People write books about these things but sometimes they leave parts out because they have an agenda. Some people do this deliberately. Does it make you angry that people only tell part of a story? If people would tell the whole story, not just rubbish, people like you would not have to correct them and clean up the mess.
