I have a pet hate for people who spit, particularly those who spit in someone else's face. But what offence if any are they committing by doing this? Anything more substantive than a s5 POA offence? Have any of come across this out on the streets and arrested someone for it? If so, for what offence and what came of it - were they charged / ticketed / NFA'D by CPS (unheard of, I know!) Thanks

Hope someone can advise. My son and two of his young friends were playing in the street, just kicking a ball between each other (nothing heavy). If they are asked to move they do with no argument and don't give backchat. My son ran in the other night to say a lady was videoing them from her window. She said to them 'I've got evidence of you and I'm allowed to video you because I'm old'. I appreciate kicking a ball about can annoy but is it right when no previous complaint has been made to us or the children that she can video my children playing in the street? Thanks for your reply. :o

Can anyone explain this to me in simple english? Or point me to a website that can explain it to me? I have been on the CPS website and my brain has broken now :) Also what legislation relates to it? Am I right in thinking that CPIA/DPA and HRA all relate to it?

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/leaflets/v796.pdf It would expect that the above guide is the bible for working out whether a number plate is legal or not. If you look at page 1 NUMBER PLATES FITTED BEFORE 1 SEPTEMBER 2001 Number plates fitted before 1.9.2001 must display characters that meet the dimensions shown in one of the two groups below It then lists all the elements of the plate and appropriate sizes. Does anyone know what the significance of Group 1 and Group 2 is? The sizes are obviously slightly different. Is it just a case that any pre Sept 2001 must meet the sizes in group 1 or 2 and therefore you could mix and match ie Character height 89mm, character…

Just out of curiosity, as I see this happening all the time, if a pedal cyclist goes through a red light without stopping, does he or she receive the same type of endorsable fixed penalty as a motorist in say a car would receive or is it a different offence because a cycle is not mechanical?
