I know a long serving bobby who likes to frighten me on nights with tales of spooky experiences he has had on Duty over the years. I am convinced now that the station I work at has spooks as a door to the enquiry office keeps on opening on it's own. Oooooooooh I remember a call came in about a woman who could hear people in her house but no one was there. Two response officers went out convinced they were dealing with a dillberry. When they came back they swore something unearthly was in the house. They did not hear voices but said it was as if the air was "Charged" with something maleviolent. Oooooooooooh If anyone has a spooky tale to tell, tell it. I loooo…

a section from Keepers of the Storm by Dianne Mackenzie We have watched the seasons change, within a single day,<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> We’ve seen their searing heat succumb – to lonely skies of winter’s gray. We have seen their silver lining fade before our eyes. Clouds with scorched and blackened edges scattered in the skies. Lightning out of nowhere, storms that rage within. Dreamscapes filled with terror, nightmares never end. Heaven lies before them, submerged in fiery flames. Calling through the silence, we hear them speak our names. For we are the watc…

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even" A Bit Cross." Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to a "Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was during the great fire of 1666 Also, the French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are…

While walking down the street one day a Member of Parliament is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in Heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. "Welcome to Heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you." "No problem, just let me in," says the man. "Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in Hell and one in Heaven, then you can choose where to spend eternity." "Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in Heaven," says the MP. "I'm sorry, but we have o…

The Department of Work and Pensions has admitted that it has paid out £13 million in benefits to prisoners, i.e, pensions , housing benefit, job seekers allowances and numerous others, none of which they were entitled to. A spokesman had the cheek to say that £13 million was just a very small amount compared with how much was fraudulently claimed over all. What a cheek paying out in the first place, someone should get the sack over this. Maverick2238948.8268981481

From the Daily Express Wednesday 16/08/06 Page 25 The road sign that got lost in translation - Jo Willey Helpful workers on the highways of Wales erected bilingual signs for Welsh speakers and English visitors alike. But they messed up their mother tongue with this message which has more to do with waterworks than roadworks. [Picture showing sign] The sign tells cyclists in English to dismount but Welsh-speaking riders got off quickly when they saw the words "Llid y bledren dymchwelyd" - which means "Your bladder disease has returned." Language expert Owain Sgiv, from the Welsh Language Campaign, said: "It is difficult to translate as there is no Welsh word…
