PC John Reid, of Strathclyde Police was arrested by Tayside Police, when he drove his force Mini Bus down a one way street the wrong way. He was three times over the drink drive limit. He was disqualified for two years and fined £500. He was so drunk that in court he said he couldn't remember driving at all, and the first thing he remembered was being in the cells. He had gone out to get a take-away for his mates at the Bowls Club. Some people never learn. Maverick222008-01-22 09:10:38

Help!!! A few years ago I went to the F1 Grand Prix and stayed at a great campsite a few minutes from Club corner south of the circuit. It was not a permanent campsite - just a field with some Portaloos. Unfortunately I cannot find the contact number for this site as I am going again this year. Does anyone know the site I am looking for and have a contact number or website? Thanks CRO

Shootist's screed has reminded me of something which has been bugging me since Tony Martin. It's my belief that if someone enters your home to commit crtime, you should have the right to use lethal force against them, whether you fear for your safety or not. I think you should be able to shoot them out of hand, and if they die, tough on them. They took 6that risk when they crossed the threshold. However, I can see problems in that approach. One is that you need to keep weapons safe, so they're not exactly to hand when you need them. (though I suppose you could take them to bed at night) Contrary to Shootist's screed, I wouldn't trust many householders with a …

Not mine. Something I copied form another bulletin board. Worth a read. And when that police help for the public is not forthcoming ..... which it certainly won't be, because the police have other fish to fry ..... what then? Are we to slowly retreat inside our own homes, fearful of the world outside, and hope the bad men pass us by? Carry on reading the evening paper when we see someone being victimized and abused, in the knowlege that if we intervene not only do we risk a stabbing or a kicking, but arrest and prosecution? Hope for a lottery win, so we can move out of the cities? Quit and leave the country in despair at the rising tide of savagery, like …

Shafkat Munir, 26 years, of Blackburn Lancashire, was caught speeding three times in quick succession. He got his friend to ring the authorities and tell them that Shafkat had died in Pakistan, and produced a Death Certificate to that effect, but an eagle eyed official noticed discrepencies in the certificate. At Preston Crown Court, Munir was sent to prison for 12 months and banned from driving for perverting the course of justice. Silly fool didn't realise he wouldn't have been disqualified as he would have only had 9 points on his licence. Some people will go to extreme lengths to get out of going to court, or to get off speeding offences.

I know this is not strictly to do with police but Panorama tonight investiagtes as the title suggests Britain's Protection Racket. Here is the Press Release: "Panorama goes undercover in Britain's 7bn security industry, revealing that a highly organised illegal element still operates in the industry that runs everything from CCTV cameras in our cities to bouncers in our pubs and guards at our hospitals. With testimony from a well-placed whistleblower, it asks whether the body set up to clean up the industry is succeeding, and exposes the loophole that allows criminals to remain and flourish within it" Its sounds quite shocking just wondering how widespread th…

Trading Standards in London are going to waste thousands of pounds taking a Street Trader to Crown Court, because she sells fruit and veg by the bowl, or weighs them in Imperial measures. Apparently most of her customers still ask for two pounds of apples, or whatever, and nobody ever asks for a kilo of anything. I sometimes wish HMG would tell Brussels to go 'stuff themselves' and lets us use whatever measures we like. There is still a garage in deepest Somerset that sells petrol by the gallon even though Trading Standards tried to close it down 15 years ago. I think they just got fed up with telling the owner to change to litres. Nobody who goes into the garage ever…

Is it not time that we got out of the EC. We no longer rule ourselves and are dictated to by Brussels, by people in the exec who are not elected, but appointed by Cronies of PM's. The cost of belonging is a fortune and what do we get out of it, very little. It's a fallacy that other European countries would not trade with us if we were outside, if they want our products, they will buy them. We could go back to ruling ourselves, with our Government making the decisions, and we could decide our own immigration policy with out being ruled over by Brussels. Plus the Human Rights Act could be amended or kick out altogether. Lets go back to Great Britain and stop being just…
