I see from a yahoo news item that Peter Sutcliffe, The Yorkshire Ripper, is taking the government to court for denying him his human rights. Apparently, in sentencing him, the failure to set a tariff breached his rights. He is represented by Ms Samio Chahal, who was "Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year 2006" for pushing the boundaries of the law! Apropos of "human rights", I am reminded of the comment made by the new President of Botswana in his inauguration speech a few weeks ago; he said: "Batswana (that is citizens of Botswana) must be reminded that in a democracy, the rights and freedoms of one individual end where those of other citizens begin. Freedoms go…

I can't believe this. Darlington's 130-year-old cattle market is under threat after residents complained it is too noisy. Surely the residents shouldn't have moved there in the first place if the market has been there for 130 years. WTF do they expect of a cattle market? We'll have schools closed down because the kids are too noisy soon.

Two major supermarkets were cordoned off by police after a man shocked shoppers by spraying urine on the food. The raider entered Morrisons in Glevum Way, Gloucester, and fired a "foul-smelling substance" - thought to be urine - on meat, salad and fruit. He fled the store and went to Tesco four miles away in Quedgeley, where he again terrified customers and staff by spraying the fluid on produce. A 42-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested at the Tesco store on suspicion of causing criminal damage and remains in police custody. One man is thought to be behind both incidents. Police do not believe the substance poses a risk to public safety but the shops have been s…

I found this on one of the other forums I frequent........ WHAT A GREAT IDEA..............SHE WILL LOVE IT...................... Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife... A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Taser for their anniversary submitted this. Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Sally. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized taser. The effects of the taser were supposed to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to saf…

Man arrested after trying to fill up imaginary car Tuesday, April 22, 2008 Petrol pumps. Imaginary car not pictured. Because it's imaginary, duh. A man has been arrested at a Kentucky petrol station after he was reported to be trying to pump fuel into an imaginary car. According to reports, Louisville police found Joshua L. Moore at the petrol station, where workers alleged he had been trying to pump petrol into a car that wasn't there, in the early hours of Sunday morning. The officers immediately noted what appeared to be a strong smell of marijuana. After being arrested, Moore was found to have 'two large baggies' of marijuana on his…
