So, i`m happily mooching up the M1 just passed junction 14 today, up pops on the gantry M6 JUNCTIONS 4-10 LONG DELAYS. By telling folks about these delayes so far in advance gives us several choices. 1 Use the toll road, but once again HATO came up trumps. Next gantry, FOR NORTH WEST USE M1, A50, No sign of an advert for Toll road, that`s aces in my book. 2 One could use M1 all the way to M62 then go shouth, on M62 to Manchester, but i thought, Traffic rat may be about, so best get my boss to pay for Toll road, or worst still Black Rat or even Soren. In short one has to be happy with the info HATO gave out this morning. And to add to this every so often up on those gan…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wear/7413347.stm The PC Brigade strike again, what is it with these people, they like to tell everyone they are 'gay', but they don't like it when someone says they are 'straight'. I hope Sunderland Police don't take this complaint seriously, it is just a complete waste of police time. Maverick222008-05-22 08:21:46

Click If this list were to be extended, who else might you put on it? Gordon Brown would be a cert. One of the most imprudent prudent Chancellor's we've ever had. For example, selling treasury gold when prices were at their lowest has got to rank as one of his biggest mistakes - indeed we're still paying for that now.

I have heard it all now, Gorbals Mick, the Speaker of the House of Commons,(Michael Martin) has a Grace and Favour Home in the House of Commons, which is very plush to say the least. Because it was free he got no second home allowance, which can be £26,000 a year. To get round this, he claims the Grace and Favour Appartment is his FIRST home, so that he can claim £26,000 a year for his Flat in Scotland. If that isn't nose in the trough, what on earth is. As he has a free home in London he should not get any rent allowance. No wonder people are fed up with the crooks in the H of Commons.

ATI X1900XTX GRAPHICS CARD...WITH AN ARCTIC COOLING COOLER ON IT... The mainboard is pretty mint, and the graphics card was best in catergory some months ago, and it's been used for Ghost Recon, Call of duty modern warfare, and even crysis on lower settings!!! any offers or interest? dan22

Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7411512.stm How about NO - LEAVE IT ALONE......... For starters, Shoreditch falls under the remit of Hackney and the City - NOT Tower Hamlets. Assuming this is a legitimate story, Shoreditch doesn't have a particularly strong 'Bangladeshi' community at all. You need to travel into Tower Hamlets for that. If we are going to rename train stations to reflect the local ethnic population, then i'm sure there will be a few more appeals to rename some more. Oh and i'm sure there's someones Human Rights in there somewhere (They feature in every story....... :smiley_notworthy: ) Someone had to say it.

Britain aborts an average of 540 children every day. Most of these are perfectly healthy boys and girls. Today parliament are deciding whether to change the time limit from 24 to 22 or 20 weeks. How might you vote, if you were an MP? ex-job-ex-pat2008-05-20 13:24:32

When on the London Underground on Saturday, I was reminded that we haven't played Mornington Crescent for ages. Partly because it got very samey (I couldn't easily avoid punishment) and most of the players found something more interesting to do. But now Sleepybird is playing in the humour sections, GND and thought it might be worth reviving, but with a few changes; hence the new thread. We thought the basic game could stay the same, ie it's like muppets, a word association game, but each person has a taboo subject which they try to avoid being posted. But it was too easy to MC people and get stuck there (especially me) So we thought perhaps different, or more s…

This is a word that I think has become the most obscene in the modern lexicon. Whenever you hear it, is used as a shield to protect the corrupt, incompetent, stupid, cowardly, or guilty, and shield them from having either to make a decision, or accept any responsibility for a decision they have made. Whenever you are obstructed from doing anything constructive or good or useful, you can bet that some asshole will have used this vile word to explain why you cannot go ahead and achieve something positive. It's use prevents all ruther rational argument or reason, and allows the asshole in question to avoid making any further explanation of the stupidity he is enfor…

Hello all. Just introducing myself as a new member, actually my police connection is that i am the daughter of a retired police sergeant from the UK,so thanks for letting me in....I am actually a Dental Hygienist. My Dad is now nearly 84 years old and he served his 25 or 30 years service with the West midlands, based in wolverhampton...I think at Red Lion Street police station. I was wondering if there are any of his generation around posting on the site perhaps? Perhaps one of the present policemen is following in the footsteps of a dad or grandad that may have known him?...worth a try eh? His name is Eric Arthrell and he was in the force from the …
