A disabled thief who was tracked into some woods was eventually found stroking the police dog sent to find him. Neil West, aged 36, was found hiding in woods by the dog when it was called in after the perimeter fence of the Wyevale Garden Centre, Northampton, was cut through by intruders. Northampton Crown Court heard how West was tracked into the woods butwas found stroking the dog once the officers caught up. Nadia Silver, prosecuting, said: "At 10pm on May 16 last year, officers were called to the Wyevale Garden Centre after reports of a break-in. "A hole had been cut in the perimeter fence and when officers attended, they saw a vehicle parked and two men next to i…

man with a shoe fetish who ripped a high heel from a teenager's foot has been electronically tagged. Mark Barrie, 35, from Perth, will wear the device on his ankle for three months and will not be allowed out between 2200 BST and 1000 BST. He was also placed on probation and his name has been added to the sex offenders register. Barrie admitted attacking the 18-year-old in January because he was "sexually excited" by the footwear. He targeted her in broad daylight in front of other shoppers in Perth. He claimed he had gone into a "trance" before pouncing on his victim and lying on the ground with his arms locked around her ankles. 'Out of character' Barrie g…

I am filling in my police application at the mo but am quite worried. I have 12 years experience in the armed forces with glowing references and my application is as pink and fluffy as can be. The problem is I was accused of a serious crime 10 years ago for which I was proved innocent and there was NFA and 6 years ago was given a caution for taking a poster off a wall. On both occasions I was sober and was respectful to everyone involved so was quite surprised by the caution. Anyway was wondering if any one knows how much this will affect my chances in the paper sift or will my application just be binned straight away? Any advice would be great. Cheers!!!

I've managed to clock up nearly 2000 miles over the last 10 days, driving to The North of Scotland from Belgium and back via East Anglia. The worst roads have to be ............. The M6 , as always Northbound ..... ( even in the middle of the night, reduced to one lane sporadically over a 40 mile period ( not much work happening ) north of Stoke, The A9 from Perth to Inverness ( a real death trap ...anyone familiar with this ? ) and the so called A road from EDINBURGH - South ....... The A1, which should be a B class road in my estimation for a hundred miles south of Edinburgh .......... I had numerous white vans trailing me at such close distance that i could tell the c…

I dont know about the rest of you, but I do quite enjoy reading the various Police Bloggs out there. One of my usual stop off points however seems to have gone offline. Anyone know whats happened to 200 weeks? I've not been able to access it for a while now. I only ask here as I recall a few Bloggers post on here. Or at least they used to.

I have just picked up an old favourite book "Games People Play." Subtitles "The Psychology of Human Relations." It's a heavy piece, but in the introduction, I came across the following:- Indeed, solitrary confinement is one of the punishments most dreaded even by prisoners hardened to physical brutality and is now a notorious procedure for inducing political compliance. (Conversley, the best of the known weapons against political compliance is social organisation). Now, if this is true (and I don't necessarily say that, but just for the sake of discussion) then I wonder about the world we live in today. We seem, in this country, to be utterly incapabl…
