You may have seen this before. Why did the chicken cross the road? <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road. HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure – right from Day One! – that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cros…

Click Reuters - Thursday, July 31 12:57 pm LONDON (Reuters Life!) - The world's oldest recorded joke has been traced back to 1900 BC and suggests that toilet humour was as popular with the ancients as it is today. It is a saying of the Sumerians, who lived in what is now southern Iraq and goes: "Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman did not fart in her husband's lap." It heads the world's oldest top 10 joke list published by the University of Wolverhampton on Thursday. A 1600 BC gag about a pharaoh, said to be King Snofru, comes second -- "How do you entertain a bored pharaoh? You sail a boatload of young women dressed …

Not sure if this is the right place for this question. Is there a way to automatically ignore posts from specific posters? Ideally so that I've no idea a specific poster has even commented on a thread - or just blank the text. Just asking - sorry if it's the wrong place to ask!

There is a good possibility that summer is arriving at last. Good hay making weather. For me, that means hot dry weather with wall to wall blue skies for at least four days (three days to make the hay and one to collect it off the fields). This is still over a week away and any forecast more than 5 days away has a distinct possibility of going totally wrong. However, the signs are there for the first time this year. From next Monday, the jet stream is showing signs of moving north of the UK (at last). This will allow high pressure to build from the Azores (which the pressure maps show happening). I cannot be sure the precise day that this will start but it will be gradu…

http://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/Neigh...s/item9141.html The Christian Police Association in Gloucestershire has been keen to link in with churches across the county, to provide information that will enable Christians to pray into law and order issues in their area, and to support their local policing and partnership teams by praying for individuals within them. PC Sue Johnson who is part of the Forest South SCT and also a Christian believes in the Power of Prayer and has contacted local churches asking them to remember their local police officers in their prayers. She intends to write to them on a monthly basis drawing their attention to certain areas of c…

Mine are - in no order and not an exhaustive list - anything by Chris Cornell or Audioslave - though 'you know my name' and 'shadow on the sun' are fantastic.
