So, Im flying to Langkawi in Malaysia, then to Singapore for the Grand prix, which should be great....then the bit Im really looking forward too (assuming the chugga chugga plane taking us there doesnt crash into a million pieces in the jungle.)...off to Borneo to trek in the rain forest and see the Organgutan! The only thing Im not looking forward to is the potential for snakes and tree leeches which apparently drop out of the trees and latch onto your skin!! the only way to get them off is to burn them... Sorry for pointless post! Just …

Yesterday a gang of armed men atacked a cash-in-transit van just outside Pretoria. The gang were spotted by the CIT guards who radioed the Police, who then instructed the van to drive to a relatively unused location. The van was stopped by the robbers and Police were on scene at the same time. Six of the nine robbers were shot dead at the scene and the three who escaped are now being pursued. The SAPS spokesperson on TV news said "Robbers should be aware that we will not allow them to rob. This should be a lesson - they will be dealt with like this." The sweet-faced, blonde detective didn't seem in the least bit apologetic - presumably they don't have an "IPCC" to second-…

http://www.policeoracle.com/news/Presumed-Guilty_20226.html Is this Henry Porter for real, or is he just another Guardian Hack. I always thought police work was all about targetting criminals and people suspected of crime. Maverick222009-09-16 08:16:53

A good and useful piece or Labour Legislation, or just another example of well meaning stupidity and control-freakery? This scheme comes into force from October 2009. The new ISA (Independant Safeguarding Authority).... a 'step too far', or a requirement to enhance Child and Vulnerable Groups Protection? Is this ISA independant from whom - the government? What nonesense!! "The road to hell is pave with good intentions" like many a badly drafted piece of Labour legislation. If the Labour Government, ah, yes our Labour government..... is so concerned about this matter, then why was the current CRB Vetting system not enhanced/amended and changed to include these new …

Hello. First of all I have a confession to make. I have posted my views on this forum before and was subsequently barred. I believe my views on the G20 policing were not appreciated by what as I saw were pretty biased users. However I return with something I hope you will appreciate. This is a statement I sent through our organisation to the team we liase with for media related matters at the Met and in case it doesn't trickle down I'd like to pass it on to you as well. I am a photographer working for AFP news agency and I regularly cover demonstrations in London and around the country as part of my job. I am writing to you to praise the work of all the offic…

Could I please pick your collective brains? I have a Working Cocker Spaniel (not that he does any work! ). I've had him for nine & a half months or so & he's at a guess, around about eighteen months old now. He's a rescue dog & very obedient in regards to coming to call, sitting, laying down etc & waiting to be told he can have his food before he makes a dive for the bowl. So really, for his age he is very well behaved. The only problem I have with him is him pulling on the lead when he's taken for walks. He's taken for walks daily so it isn't that he's not getting out enough & the only way I can stop him pulling me over is to use a choke chain …
