http://www.lastingtribute.co.uk/tribute/padgett/3161661# Chief Superintendent Sandy Padgett, district commander for West Somerset, died suddenly on Saturday October 3, 2009. Tipped as a high-flyer she had been a leading part of the Action on Street Crime and Citizen Focused Policing initiatives and was well-respected outside the force for her down-to-earth and pragmatic approach. Yet, but for a twist of fate she might never have joined the force. Chief Superintendent Padgett, 41, was a talented and well-qualified artist. But while working as a postwoman, she became the victim of a stalker. After dealing with the police about this issue, someone asked her …

For those in the Public sector, it looks like we will get sod all rise in Pensions come April 2010. The current RPI calculated on 15th September 2009 was minus 1.3 Percent. I'm not sure if that means there a 'Nil' rise in Local Gov, Armed Forces, Civil Service and State Pensions. The same calculation last year in 2008 was around 5 Percent, which we all recieved. So it looks like 2010 - 2011 is going to be a lean year, unless anyone knows any different. Of course, our esteemed MPs will probably vote themselves a rise well above inflation as usual....

Happy Birthday Kiaser Bill.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/8290489.stm Am I missing something ? We are no longer allowed to High-Five in case someone gets injured. The part about giving sweets to kids, well I can see some caution there, but if a kid has a nut allergy, surely he/she should be saying "no thanks, I have a nut allergy", or "does this contain nuts?".999tommo2009-10-05 13:20:01

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1218006/DVLA-forced-pull-anti-gay-private-numberplates-auction-complaints.html How pathetic, the PC Brigade in the shape of Stonewall strike again. Most Gays and Lesbians are only too keen to march, or tell everyone they are Gay, and I am sure they would be proud to display those plates on their cars.

Just sat watching Police Acadamy since its raining outside... Please please please tell me its a true story based on Hendon

"Harriet Harman is being investigated by police after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident in which she drove into a parked car while talking on her mobile phone. Ms Harman, Labour's deputy leader, is said to have stopped briefly after the crash, but witnesses say she drove off without leaving her insurance or registration details - an offence carrying a possible six-month jail term" Police sources told The Mail on Sunday she was due to be questioned early last week, but this was delayed because of the Labour conference. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: 'We are in the process of taking statements from all the parties concerned. No injuries were reported and inq…

Just a quick query for a short story I'm writing. If someone hands in some jewellery they have found, how long do they have to wait to get it if nobody claims it, please? Is it a month or 6 months?

Has anyone got an Olympus Tough Camera? If so... what do you think of them?
