    Hi, im looking for some material i can read/watch to help learn some bits while im waiting for the next Met recruitment day i already got the 'Become a Police Officer' CD (well, waiting on delivery) what im after is some that will tell me the sections and there meanings (example, Section 5 = public order) just something to give me a headstart learnt the the alphabet in radio talk, is there anything else that will tell me he abbreviations, im just bored and want something to read lol anyone know of any good material, the learning the sections is what im mainly after, cheers

    Is it me? I have not heard many fireworks being let off recently, apart from Diwali, certainly nothing like last year, on the run up to Halloween and bonfire night, I know they are for sale in the supermarkets. There certainly hasn't been the usual number of complaints coming onto the desk about fireworks compared to last year, I am not aware of any new law governing the sale of them. Anyone got any knowledge? Not complaining by the way, just find it very odd.

    Not with the environment anyway. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8328933.stm I remember reading about a very efficient means of incinerating waste in Switzerland, which produced energy and reduced landfill. Of course you can't have that here because the nimbys object and the environmental groups would be up in arms... probably the same ones wanting power stations closed. The trouble is, living produces waste, and our lives result in a lot of waste which doesn't degrade naturally. We've got 3 choices or combinations of those choices. 1. Stop living. Not my favourite choice. 2. Stop using so much. 3. Start looking at the best ways of dealing with the rubbish …
