The Chair of the Police Authority says, ''It will give pleasure to local people'', how does he work that out for christs sake.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/39Save-the-Ark-Royal-name39.6701257.jp The Queen has been asked to give up her name being used on one of the Royal Navy's new aircraft carriers. Currently, the first of the new supercarriers will be called HMS Queen Elizabeth, with the second to be named HMS Prince of Wales. But Portsmouth City Council leader Cllr Gerald Vernon-Jackson has written to the Queen and the heir to the throne to request their permission for one to be renamed. It comes as…

Coming back down the M5 this morning between WSM and Clevedon, and a bunch of say 5 or so cars all move from inside lane into the middle lane, me included. This young woman was still sat in the inside lane indicating. I wasn't too bothered because there was a massive gap behind me that common sense would have said she would go in there. She had no common sense, she decided to go into the side of me. Worse than that though, when I pulled into hard shoulder she followed. She got out and started yelling at me for not moving into the fast lane saying I had plenty of room and I could've gone in that lane. Was kind of shocked by this point and said I was going the same speed …

Just been watching Road Wars they've shown a clip of an American Police Officer who had pulled over some one on the motorway and a lorry of somesort nearly went in to the officer, then anotherone where a vehicle smashed right in to a car that was pulled over on the motorway with the Officer being hit by the stationary car that had been hit by the moving vehicle, is this a regular occurence in the UK? or is it not as common?

I've just heard a popping sound from the kitchen.....I went through and saw that a bottle had exploded of its own accord: but rather than shattering two holes were punched out of it at the top and bottom and the beer had all gone. No heat or cold had been applied to it - it was all at room temperature and had been there about a day. Has anyone come across anything like this before? I've had loads of bottles of beer over time and this is the strangest beer-related encounter I've had!
