We've discussed this (extensively) on here before but I've always found it amusing. The BBC has published an article on the problem explaining how it works. Lets see if you agree http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-24045598

Blackout - 4OD "Drama documentary exploring the effects of a devastating cyber-attack on Britain's national electricity grid, combining fictional scenes with footage recorded during real blackouts" About halfway through this now... Not the best 'mockumentary' I've ever seen, it's full of REALLY unlikeable characters - I do mean unlikeable... Thought it'd be worth posting up to see if anyone else watched it or wanted to watch it on 4OD. Find it wishful thinking that the riots only occurred three days into the blackout but hey-ho. :Edit: Our friend Charlie makes an appearance aswell...

So it was my sons first day at school this week. He is only 4! bless him. So he is in his uniform sitting at the table in reception (thats a class to those that do not know not the office reception). He sits all alone and the teacher walks up to him and asks if he is ok and why he is not playing with the other little children. My son looks up at the teacher twisting his eyebrow up in disgust and says' My mummy and daddy said i am here to learn, not play, so what are you going to teach me then?' I cracked up! i mean really. Wow ..... the teacher said she just laughed out loud and was surprised, and my son then said 'Its not funny you know, I am here to learn' Well hav…

This rather amused me. Last week Mrs Prolixia and a number of her colleagues attended the coroner's court to give evidence. Before they went in, an usher gave them the low down on inquest etiquette - how to address the coroner, that sort of thing. One of the questions they were asked was whether they wanted to swear on the bible or affirm. "What's the firm?" asked Mrs Prolixia, and the rather puzzled usher explained that you can say an alternative oath in which you "declare and affirm" that what you are saying is true if you don't feel able to swear on the bible. Later that night, as we were finishing dinner, she asked me "What does it mean to declare on a firm?" I…

(not sure whether locker room or not as police related) Any personal experiences with funny/down right stupid things people have said to you after arrest? "I know your boss Bernard Hogan Howe and I'm going to get you fired" (I work for one of the other London forces) The same dude kept going on about how his dads a lawyer and he would be straight out of custody and he would have my badge for this. (me thinks to many US cop shows for the young lad)

Well after years and years of being with his lady my closest friend and finally popped the question and gone and got him self engaged and last night asked me to be his best man. This has left me though, not only massively honoured but also totally clueless! I'm 26 and so friends and couples are just starting to settle down but this is the first wedding from our group of friends so I have little idea of what entirely is required of me. So who's been there and done it and can offer some words of wisdom? Or who's witnessed some massive dos and don't of being a best man?
