Sussex Police

I came across a few Sussex police officers the other day - not in a position to chat with them - and they all had different letters on their collar numbers on them. I know that some forces issue them for Boroughs (e.g. the Met) or certain specialisms, but having a look around the internet, it appears that Sussex's are much more random. I noticed this also in the recent BBC programme Cuffs, but just assumed it was a made up thing for TV. Can someone explain them?

Has anyone attended the new assessment centre called DAY 1 yet? This is replacing the SEARCH one. I have mine coming up and would like to get an in-sight. Cheers Scott

Hi guys! Just a quick question not sure if anyone can help. Does anyone know the pay day for Sussex Police? I start tomorrow and trying to get ahead of myself with my bills and understanding when my first pay will be! thanks!! The worries of adult life aye!!

After some advice, I am still waiting to hear back from Sussex Police with an employment offer. We were meant to hear at the end of Jan but they filled the places for this and the remaining people waiting were told they would hear by the end of March. I have still not heard. I sent an email on Monday but have had no reply as of yet. Any idea on what to do next? I did not want to ring too early as I am sure they are busy and aware the deadline has been missed, what would you do?

Had my medical exam this morning, before I went I was not worried at all. Everything seemed fine and then during the hearing test they told me my right ear was not as good as my left. Still reached the minimum criteria but they needed to get it checked by the Police Doctor and have advised me to visit my GP. Should I be concerned that I may not pass my medical now?

Hi All! I applied to Sussex Police on the 11th and the window closes on the 23rd. I'm just posting to see if anyone could give me a heads up of whats to come? If anyone could give some hints, tips and general help it would be really appreciated! I've wanted to join the service since I was a young (I'm 19 now) and this is the first time I've managed to catch the window since turning 18. So, any help from recently recruited PCs, and maybe any recruiters, would be of huge value to me! A huge thanks to everyone in advance![emoji1]

Hello does anyone have there fitness test booked in for the 16th September for Sussex at all?

Can anyone tell me if Sussex have RPU Specials ? If so, what if anything can they drive and what vehicles do the have access to?
