Hi everyone! I've been abit of a lurker here recently as I have only just submitted my application for the Specials in March (2013). I was just wondering if anybody else has applied this year? Hello, I see that Sussex Police are looking for Transferee Police officers and saw this advert. Sussex Police are recruiting a limited number of transferees from other forces to join us in 2013 at the rank of police constable. We are therefore inviting officers from other forces to make a formal application to Sussex Police. It is likely that we will be looking for officers to be posted into Neighbourhood Response and Response Investigation policing teams at various locations across East/West Sussex and Brighton. Can i just ask a quick question, are these response Vacancies? or NPT roles? Thanks

hello, just wondering who is attending the new specials course starting 8th may? What happens on the induction day? what happens uniform fitting? anyone been through the process and could shed light on what to expect? cheers

Hi all.. I'm attending a medical assessment day tomorrow at the Lewes hq, The invite I have states that there is no parking on site for us on the day.. Any ideas where you can park nearby as I've not been here before and don't want to turn up driving around in circles in the am Cheers Sean

Well I had my first training session last night from 7 - 10, hence the midday post today after a lot of sleep , after being nervous and not knowing what to expect the tutors did a great job making everyone feel comfortable and helping answer any questions you have no matter what they were, as Sgt Casey said "there is no stupid question, the only thing stupid is you not asking it". Now looking forward to Saturday for the next training day !

Anyone know when they will open for applications again? I applied back in August 2009, passed the interview and test but failed due to my finance, 8k debt at the time which was being managed in a debt plan. Knocked me for 6 to be honest, as I had spent the previous 12 months to that losing 6 stone and getting myself fit. A few years passed my weight ##### back up like crazy, until this year where I have lost 5 stone and got myself in shape agan, I am two payments away from finishing my debt plan, such a relief, the only item it leaves me is a credit card well within limit and no missed payments. Good to see people getting on and posting information for us all.

Hi All, Just an update really, and some tips, I am finally coming to the end of the 10 week law training with my exam on saturday. Its been tough with alot of info to take in and lots of homework however its been very interesting and enjoyable. All training is now held at Lewes HQ and is non-residential. If you havnt already i would suggest starting early in buying research books although not a necessity they are extremely good. HI, I have recently passed my assesment day, and all I can think of at the moment is getting on the streets. I have joined sussex and had my assesment day back in July. I recieved my letter, and I wont hear anything for approximately 4 months. What happens, anyone else had the same thing, or been through this before? very excited and eager for information.
