Hurray, got a type 4 offer yesterday for March 28th. Glad to see a good few of you have also. Patience is obviously a virtue. I've seen before that some previous intake recruits had set up social media groups (whatsapp, facebook, etc.). Is there anything already set up for 28th March intake?

Hello. I start my specials training with The Met this month but have just discovered I won't be able to attend day 18 of training. I was originally booked on a Saturdays course at Hendon, and with this in mind I booked a short holiday starting on a Sunday so that it wouldn't interfere with my training. After booking this holiday I changed my training to Sundays at Sovereign Gate because I had concerns about travelling to Hendon every week. However, I neglected that I had flights booked for a Sunday in July. How do the trainers feel about missed sessions? Could I miss this day and catch up on a concurrent course elsewhere? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Man…

After having been closed for the last few months, external recruitment for regulars will be re-opening shortly for the MPS. An exact date is not known yet however it's anticipated to be late January 2016. However, of note is that the MPS have opted to KEEP the 2nd language requirement following it's trial last year but they have extended the list of accepted languages from 16 to 25. These are; Arabic • Bengali • Bulgarian • Cantonese • Estonian • Farsi • French • German • Greek • Hebrew • Hindi • Italian • Lithuanian • Polish • Portuguese • Punjabi • Romanian • Sinhala • Somali • Spanish • Tamil • Turkish • Urdu • Vietnamese • Yoruba (Nigeria) This is in add…

so we've had 2 weeks since the new system officially went live, how are people finding it? Personally I think it's great, much better usability than MSCO, and I think once we all get used to it the complaining will be almost non existent. people like to complain, and they don't like change, but once they realise how good this has the potential to be, especially for supervisors, I think it'll get a lot more use than MSCO ever did!

Is there anyone else that is not finding out about new officers attesting to Borough early enough to make contact with them?! We've had about six officers joining my Borough that I only find out about a week before their attestation...

17 February 2016 Tower Hamlets has hit the ground running this year with a number of successes in the past month that I'd like to share with you all. First and foremost is a message of appreciation I received from Hestia; a charity offering support and refuge to victims of crime and their families. Hestia wrote in response to a donation of over 100 gifts as part of the 'Christmas Tree Project' in which residents and officers purchased gifts to be given to less fortunate children. So great was the Borough's contribution that the 100 gifts to Hestia were additional to around 250 given to the LBTH Social Services. Hestia wrote "we were blown away by the generosity and t…

Hi there I've heard different things from different people how much you pay into the pension each month, so was just wondering anyone in the job who is still a probationer how much are you paying into the pension each month? I have asked a friend who's just started but he's been emergency taxed on his first pay check so I'm not sure that truly reflects how much you pay. I'm only asking to calculate expenses before I look at how much I can afford on rent :) sorry to ask if this question has been asked before, and any answers or help is much appreciated.
