Brief note to draw board members to an announcement on DutySheet regarding recruitment to the Roads and Transport Policing Command. There are a number of vacancies Pan-London for Special Constables to join the Roads Policing Teams (colloquially known as "Traffic"). The vacancies exist for IPS officers only and further information is contained within the advert about how to send an expression of interest and where to get further information. I'd recommend the role - it is good fun and a great place to develop your skills within a specialist environment. I'll try to answer any general queries on here, but specific questions should be …

Hi folks, I am starting the Police College at Tulliallan on the 27th June. Is there anybody else on here that is starting on the same date or has previously been to Tulliallan. I am not entirely sure what to expect so if any body has been already can you give me some advise on what to expect and if there is anything in particular worth revising for before attending. Thanks in advance!

Sorry if this has already been covered. I know we can claim back travel expenses from MSC training and I know as SC we get travel and food expenses on duty, but I wonder whether we can claim back for meals during the training. In my case I've done full time intense training. I've asked around but nobody seems to know. £5 every day for 24 days all adds up Frog

Hi all, thought I'd join up and ask for a bit of advice as I've just sent off my application for the Met Police. Basically I have a large amount of data on the PNC and I was wondering if this would affect my chances? I presume it would but it's my ambition to join the Met. The info held includes one arrest which was NFA'd and a number of missing person reports/Section 136 but no convictions as such. I'm hopeful this won't make too much difference

Afternoon boys and girls. Anyone here passing out tomorrow? It's been a long few months in training, but it's all over. I don't know what to expect when I get out on borough. Would any of you mind sharing your first day out on coached patrol?

Ive done my CKP 1year ago, but due to the ridiculous change in recruitment in reference to the residency criteria rule, I cannot apply direct for PC as I live outside London. I have seen some posts on here saying that you can apply for PC if you have managed to become a special constable in the Met and done that for 1year, however when looking at the Met careers website I cannot see anything that clearly states this. But so can anyone point me to exactly where on the Met's website they state this please? Thanks

TVP is currently looking for transferee special sgts across the force and particularly in the border stations(eg Slough, Amersham) They're also looking for special sgts in Reading which is one of the busiest stations in the force with reactive, Reading Festival, Traffic, Drugs, and proactive teams. Specials are attached to reactive and specialist teams. If you're interested please PM me for any questions.

Hi, I'm a new cadet in the Met and I'm still learning. One of the things that come up on my test is the Code of Conduct. To any staff or more experienced cadets, could you tell me what they are? Thanks.

Heya, I was looking over some recruitment stuff the other day about Specials with the Met, and they don't mention CKP there. As a Special Constable for the Met, do you need to have completed a CKP to the same standard? (And, slightly off-topic, how difficult is the CKP to do - how long does it take?) Thanks!
