I know that because I live in one of the home counties it makes it very hard for me to become a regular PC in London, even though I know areas of London better than most spending lots of time due to family living in London so I make frequent trips. So I was wondering what ways are there to become a regular other than just waiting till they lift the requirement? I know that if you complete 200 hours of being a special you can become a regular, but do you have to live in London still? And if you don't have to do they still recruit internally from special to regular? Are there any other ways? Will the requirement be lifted anytime soon? Thanks for the help

How to prepare for the Met Police Fitness Test You will run back and forth continuously between 2 lines 15 metres apart in time to an electronic bleep. The speed will increase with each new level until you reach the pass mark. The level required is 4 shuttles at level 5 (5.4). You will run 44 shuttles to reach this level. You are likely to pass if you can run 1.5 miles in 12 minutes. **Currently 3 out of 10 applicants don’t make it through the referral process, primarily because they haven’t prepared for the fitness test. Note: You should wear gym shoes and gym kit when taking the test. 6-Week Training Plan http://www.metpolicecareers.co.uk/new…

Hi there, I had my Day 2 assessment done 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I failed the beet (JRFT) test soon as the lever 5 started and missed couple of beeps and failed. They have now given 6 weeks time for Re-test and I am working towards it. My questions is that although I am failed in my Day 2 but will I get the start date with my batch (provided I pass JRFT on 23/9/16) or my application is now delayed without any doubt??. Also I was hoping to start CKP if I would pass my Day 2 as I do not want to waste it. Does anyone know that I should start CKP now ?? or wait till my test pass date and then start CKP?? Thanks

Hi all, Just a quick question. I have my day 2 assessment on the 13th November, do you find out if you have passed or failed on the day? And if not how long does it take to find out? Thanks

So many rumours and speculation about this... does anyone know the final outcome and/or when it will officially be announced and/or when all changes will happen?

Hi everyone, I'm starting internal CKP with the Met on Monday. I am a bit nervous about it, and I tried to find any statistics regarding pass percentage of the course, but found none. Anyone who already done it that could say if it's possible to fail\how hard it gets or any details on this matter. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk

Hello ladies and gents, I completed my day 2 on the 31st May 2016, I was put on medical hold as I had to send in my knee surgery report. I emailed HR on the 28th July 2016 asking for an update and was told that I was medically cleared on the 23rd of June 2016. Since then I have emailed a couple of times and was told that my vetting checks are still waiting to come back, I emailed again on the 4th August 2016 and was told that "we are still waiting for my vetting checks to come back and that there is no way of telling how long it will take but once you have cleared you will be contacted to book onto a training course." Is there anyone else in a similar situation or had th…

Hi all, What's the difference between a borough and a sector? Thank you

I applied for the Met under the additional language requirement. I've passed my Day 1, and had my Day 2 a month ago, and I've got the Language Assessment for my chosen language left to do. This far into the process, if I don't do as "well" as the Met require, could my application be withdrawn by the Met?

Dear all just wondering if any of you fellows could help me with regards to the interview for MSC? I haven't applied yet but really want to and was just wondering how many questions per competency they would ask. Would it be 2 like it used to be or as the process has slightly changed is it just one now per competency? and also just any general advice if that would be ok please. The interview is the thing I am most worried about and I would really like to pass first time. I am not looking for specific questions on the interview as I know you cant delve into it because it wouldn't be fair. And also do they still send advice and assistance packages with your Day1 email on…

Has anybody used the Written Charge Requisition / Postal Charge Requisition (WCR / PCR) thing yet, where you interview and charge people on the street, then give them a Court date instead of arresting them and taking them to custody? There was a big push on it about 18 months or so ago, but I've not seen anything on it recently and it seems to me that it it's been long forgotten. Just wondering what people's experiences and thoughts were on it if they have used it? Or equally, why they aren't using it?
