I've been offered a start date with the Met for 31st of May. Just wondering if anyone else here is on this intake?

Is it likely that the met will remove the residency criteria from their application process if they do not recruit enough from the London area? Wanting to apply but live up north so i'd be unable unless this rule was removed.

Quick question - I was speaking to some other Specials who have gone for the MSC to PC course, however when I have chatted to a few different Skippers and Guv'nors they have said the MSC-PC takes just as long if not longer to get through than applying for the Met as a regular 'from the outside'. What do others think? Is it worth applying as if from the outside or via the MSC-PC? Cheers Frog

I have my Day 1 Assessment for the Met coming up soon. Obviously we aren't allowed to talk about it too much, and I'm trying to prepare as much as a I can. Oddly enough I'm not too frightened about the numeracy & English tests, however, I am crapping bricks thinking about the roleplay and the interview. Drama, public speaking was never my strong point, so going in I don't know how to best approach preparation for the roleplay. Also, the structured interview terrifies me, again for the lack of preparation. Any tips, or help or past experiences (without breaking the rules) would be greatly appreciated it,

Hi there. I have my day 1 coming up on Tuesday, 19th April. I've done most of my preparation for it and it has been fine so far. Yesterday though, I was with a PC, as I'm currently a Public Access Support Volunteer for the Met Police. We were talking about the competency based interview for day 1 when it struck me. Basically, long story short, the application tracker has a list of competencies on there which are things like 'resilience', 'effective communication', 'respect for race and diversity', etc, and it states to prepare answers for those competencies. Hello guys, I am a second language candidate and have my Day 2 on the 21st of this month. Do you guys know how many referees they contact? I am under the impression that they only contact your most recent employer? Also does anyone know the anticipated starting dates for second language candidates? Hello What are people's views on the strategic report that has been submitted to management board and was circulated last week? It has obviously been pointed out that there are ongoing supervisory issues in failure to initiate MA / UPP, suspend oyster cards, remove warrant cards etc and that this seems to be a widespread situation. What are individual Borough's doing to address this? Thanks

Hi all I was wondering, have any of you applied for regulars while in training for Specials? I ask because although I want to be a regular eventually, I don't want to put anything in jeopardy if I apply for one while doing the other, especially if I didn't pass the regulars process, while training to be a special, I still have that chance as opposed to losing everything I've worked for. Any thoughts? Much appreciated

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum, I have been looking around for a while to find some information but I haven't seem to come across what i'm looking for. When I was 16 I got a reprimand for theft whilst I was in school, I have wanted to be a special for a long time now. I am 21 going to be 22 next month; I am in my final year of university and I am a director of my own online company, I have changed a lot since I have left school.
