Hi all. This is my first time posting so if I've posted in the wrong place or have said something wrong please let me know. I applied to be a special wth the met and I've got my assessment day on 7th October. Im very excited and can't wait but I'm really nervous. Being an officer has always been a dream job of mine ever since I was a VPC many many years ago. I applied to be a special because I need to go back to college and resist my GCSE English as Got a D in school, l so then I can apply to be a normal pc later on. Does anyone have any advice on how I can prepare or what to expect on the day? I don't want to mess this up. Sent from my iPhone using Police Com…

Hello all I would like to ask the advice of any UK Met Police officers, I am currently waiting to start my training in a couple of months and would like to modify my choice of boroughs after doing a bit more research (my first choice I put down was Westminster). Can anyone give me some advice in regards to the different boroughs. I remember when I attended the meet the Met event prior to recruitment, the Officer in charge of the day recommended to all of us to go to Westminster, as it will be a great start. I would like to be involved in dealing with serious crime(drugs, gangs, violence) rather than be sent on bicycle park patrols to help tou…

Hi guys, first time poster and short term lurker. My vetting is more or less done I'm assuming? I received this email on Wednesday "Dear Candidate, This is just a quick email to give you an update on the progress of your application. Currently you have passed all stages of the initial assessments and are waiting for your vetting checks to be completed. When these have been completed your application will be sent back to us for the referencing and training school side of things." And then today received another offering me start date of 15 October for internal CKP. Thing is it's a Sunday course with two Saturdays for 12 weeks and a P…

So, I presume most of you will have seen the mass DutySheet message by now, The Met in all its wisdom has decided to launch MSC to DC. What are your opinions on this? Me personally, I don't think it will produce amazing results and will most likely just be another way in for eager beavers like myself. I remember when the email initially went out for votes as to whether it was a good idea or not pretty much my entire borough said no to the idea. The main concern for me really is: - Does this mean there's no October MSC-PC? Will there any MSC-PC in the future? I'd like to go the PC route but if I have to I will go the DC route, simply to get in. Opinions??

Was offered the 29 Nov 16 to start my PC training course. Had to decline that but requested the next available date, gave my reasons etc. Anyone know about defered start dates, is this generally an issue. Assuming Jan will be the next training date.

I done my Day 2 at the end of May, my Language Assessment last week, and this week got an email from medical (after having to send a few more documents in) that I've passed ny Medical stage and will "hear from recruitment shortly", not sure about what exactly. If I'm correct, the next stage is the CKP course, as I've opted for the internal CKP course. How long before the start of the course do they inform me of the dates? I'm just sitting here waiting and have been since I was informed to attend Day 1 a few months back. I'd like to go away for a few days but I'm worried that I'll be informed of the next stage (CKP) at a really short notice. Anyone have any ideas?

As a ex met officer, is there any way of finding out if a covert operation was conducted on me by the DPS? I resigned about a month ago and I am convinced that I have been followed a couple of times. thanks

Hi there, I'm hoping to join the MSC and eventually apply for PC (I cant really afford to pay a grand for the CKP). I have rented within London boroughs for JUST shy of 3 years having bought a house with the missus a year ago JUST outside the boundary line. Is there any leeway with the criteria as I'm literally 100 yards from the border!!! F_B
