Hi, this may have been asked before but I can not find it. I'll get straight to the point. I want to be a police officer in London for the MPS. The only way in which I can see doing this is becoming a special Constable in the met as I do not meet the residency requirement. When it is finally time for me to apply for PC from SC do I still need a CKP?

Hello, first-time post... I am a serving member of the met (PCSO) which I joined with a view to becoming a PC. Passed all of my assessments; now I have received an email saying I failed my vetting. I know why it is (although third party info can't be given by vetting)... My dad got arrested in the year between my PCSO vet and now. I was so disgusted I moved house ASAP, but there has not been a resolution to the case yet (no bail, no charge, no conviction or NFA) I severed contact with my father from this time; only seeing him at Christmas (and that was to read some of his documents for my appeal) What I would like to know is (and I appreciate these are opinions and shan'…

Does anyone know if you have to do the Met Police online test i.e. The Situational Judgement Test, Behavioural Questionnaire, and the London Factor Assessment if you have already passed DAY 1 (assessment centre) with another force? Thanks

Hi all After numerous debates with both other regulars and specials at the nick, no one seems to know the actual legislation with regard to blue lights off duty. Attesting as a police officer both in regular and special constable capacity, enables you to step in if you feel comfortable off duty, become a reliable witness etc. Basically going back to the "if you have your warrant card on you, you are never theortically off duty." So far I have been a special for 9 months and stepped in three off duty events. 2 of which were dealt with myself, and were resolved quickly. The third was a large punch up, where I watched and called it in, then assisted when other officers ar…

Hi all. Hoping my query is unique enough to justify a new thread. I'll keep it brief. I live in London and would like to join the Met but have only been here for a year so am not eligible to apply. I think I have the following options: 1 - wait two years then apply. 2 - join as a special then apply. But would this be any quicker? 3 - apply to Kent/Surrey/Essex and transfer when possible. Any info/advice greatly appreciated. Regards, Jon

Hi I keep hearing conflicting answers to this question. Around 6months ago I achieved a score of 59% at the assessment centre for GMP however didn't make the first cut which was 65% and the second which was 60%. However I've heard I can still use that score within other forces. On this forum http://www.policespecials.com/forum/index.php/topic/140650-regular-recruitment/?p=2628453 Someone has said that theres no interview if you have passed your assessment centre in the last 2 years at 55% and you can transfer your score across... I also spoke to another special today who has transferred his scored of 50% over to lancs and has gone straight to the final interview!! So…

Hi, thought I'd start a new topic for current people applying to the met in 2016 (only seen an old for 2015 and for those who already have offers/intake dates). Anyone just sent their app off and waiting patiently to get the online tests?!

I am starting as an MSC in a few weeks and have been posted to Ealing. Any information on policing this borough or what duties specials perform out of training would be very useful i.e LPT,Response etc. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am applying to join MSC and I can select three preferred boroughs to work in. Is there anything I should take into consideration? I think I will put Westminster, Lambeth and Southwark as I would like to be fairly central and these are areas I'm more familiar with. But I haven't decided which order to put these in. Westminster and Lambeth are both listed as boroughs the Met would 'particularly welcome applications' for. Any advice much appreciated. Regards, Jon

I had my Day 2 in the end of May and minus a few emails having to send off a report to the medical team I haven't heard anything back from them. I know none of my references have been contacted yet. I'm in contact with a few other people who attended my Day 2 and they've been told a few weeks back that they've passed their vetting and are just awaiting reference checks. I've received no such communication, and it's been 15 weeks since my Day 2!

Hi, Im just waiting for a start date at the moment. I wanted to find out how many days in a row the officers work and what sort of times?

Can anyone recall what date we changed over to writing TORs (for the majority) as opposed to issuing FPNs? Also would anyone mind emailing me the powerpoints we all got sent? I had them on MSCO which has now gone, and I wanted to lift a few facts for an essay I'm writing. Thanks.
