To all my Met colleagues/ people with Met experience. I currently work in one of the busy, central boroughs of the met. However, due to family circumstances, my partner and I have moved east into essex. This has made my commute fairly horrific and a bit of a pain. Anyway - i am currently in the process of writing my papers for a borough transfer request (optimistic i know, but worth the try). Does anyone have any experience of the east outer boroughs? Such as Havering, Bark & Dag, redbridge etc? I only have central London under my belt so don't know anything about the outer boroughs and what they are like to work. Also off topic and not a deciding factor really, bu…

Are the People who chased the Rioters out of their neighbourhoods in London and carried weapons during this time to protect their property such as shops back in 2011, actually in favor of favor of the law that doesn´t allow weapons to be carried for self defence purposes in a public place in normal circumstances? I understand that the people were scared so they carried weapons to protect themselves during these times of violence, but in circumstances when things are peaceful, they would not be carrying weapons for self defence? Am I right?

I went abroad on holiday outside of the EU during my one week of annual leave over the Christmas period. During this time I contracted a disease which is still undiagnosed and lying in hospital. The airline denied boarding as I am too poorly for air travel and I am still undergoing treatment. I was due back today for work but have called in sick to HR. I have been given an unfit for work statement by the hospital for 14 days and my airline has rebooked my ticket to reflect this. Any advice would be appreciated? EDIT: Met Police - I am still at Regional Learning Centre

Hello All, I noticed that RO has no entry on the list of OCU's on this site, and wanted to rectify this. RO (Royal Parks) is a small and different OCU in the MPS, but offers interesting challenges for Special Constables and is available for new recruits to join in. Shift Pattern Early (0700 - 1400), mid (0900 - ~1700), late (1400 - 2300). "Mid" carries out the internal Aid (e.g. Guard Change) if possible. For sustained periods of time during the year there are shifts for a specific tasking, for example Winter Wonderland runs for 6 weeks and is a 1500 - 2300 shift. MSC officers can do any shift. Patrol bases Most officers are based at Hyde Park (the station is shared…

Hello, Would anyone know if there's a list of CKP Modules you should have completed for your CKP certificate before you start training?, I asked my CKP provider but they couldn't give me an exact list because NCLAT has a habit of changing module titles, I also spoke to post selection and training but they couldn't help me either, I don't want to turn up and they do a NCLAT check and find I haven't done them. Thanks :)

All, I'm on the MSC - PC intake starting on 4th January; Just a FEW questions. When do we get our Constable warrant cards? In one email it says we don't get them to the end of training, but we take the oath on the first day and training. And have to bring a form saying we won't use our warrant cards in training? Bit confusing Presuming our OST/ELS is up to date, what do we do on the days that our timetable shows it on? Cheers

In my day job I'm an EMT for LAS, I'm quite well experienced and confident in my role. As a special, I assume any relevant skills you have are assigned to your call-sign dispatch side, at the start of your shift? Is there any kind of red tape or limit on the amount of life support a trained professional can do to a patient they come across as part of their MSC duties? Also as a side note (and please don't take offence to this), why do so many Met officers call LAS for absolute garbage? Like a cut head, or someone who is "feeling shakey" after an RTC. My favourite one is "I think she's in shock". What do you want a Paramedic to do about that? Give them a hug? Again, I …

MSCONLINE will close down from the 1st Jan 2016, it was ahead of its time and a very useful management tool for duties, but alas DutySheet will be taking it over for better or worse. So long and goodbye to MSCONLINE , you served us well.
