23 December 2015 Police in Camden have worked in partnership with the local council, schools and a business to bring some festive cheer to the elderly in Camden. Officers, volunteer police cadets and staff from J. Murphy & Sons Limited (Murphy) helped serve Christmas lunch to 130 elderly people at the Queens Crescent Community Centre in Ashdown Crescent, to help build bridges between the old and the young. Christmas carols were sung by pupils from Carlton School and the Gospel Choir from La Sainte Union School. The event was organised by Camden Borough Police and Camden Council after crime prevention was provided to the elderly earlier this year in a bid to pre…

Ding Ding, MSCON is on the ropes as DutySheet will soon deliver the knockout punch. Will DutySheet be better than MSCON? or do you think MSCON should make a come back? Which one wins.

Hi All, First post so please bear with me. Can anyone tell me if the travel concession that PC's "opt into" with a monthly payment is still going? I know free travel has been stopped with exception of the free travel on TFL. However I am slightly confused as to what this travel concession I have stumbled across is, or whether it is outdated: http://www.met.police.uk/foi/pdfs/disclosure_2012/april_2012/2012030000584.pdf I will be commuting from Milton Keynes, so if it does still exist it would be brilliant!

The MSC is being drained of talented officers going into the Regs or simply leaving because we have not access to Level 3 driving or PO level 2 training. What will become of the MSC in the next five years? Will we have powers over Regs? or will the MSC decline further?

Afternoon' all On a lovely Friday night patrol recently, myself (SC) and two regular colleagues were on foot patrol. Suddenly they both charged over to a young man- who I now know to be a repeat offender for class A drugs (poss + Sup). I followed over and they had hands round his neck saying "spit it out". After about 2 minutes, somehow the male managed to swallow whatever it was he had in his mouth, then denied doing so. Whilst carrying out a stop and search under s23, the lovely young man had three capped needles in his pocket. He did admit to these before being searched. But surprisingly, the officers returned the needles back to him after refusing to go to …

Denisa Said, "It's my job to look at the ins and outs of a case and to fully research the circumstances, the history and motive. From the word go, I make sure I gain full trust from victims and e…

'Evening all! I was wondering what you've been advised to do if you come across a 'hoverboard', those new segway style things. Have you been told to seize it/warn the rider etc.?

Well it looks like the role of MSC Managers are coming back again, s this good or bad? The new budget cuts will mean they will be looking at using SCs to replace PCSO, policing without cost. Is this a better or worse future for the MSC the return of MSC Managers.

I'm finding that now the area car on my borough is being used more and more as just another vehicle to respond to the I's and S's. It seems the days have gone when the area car is used simply to get to a call first and take away any immediate danger and let other units do all the paperwork, etc. Are people finding this to be the case elsewhere or is it just me?

Hi, I have been given my training dates and mine begins on the 15th November. I was wondering whether any one else is starting on the same date? If I start next month, should I contact the vetting department as I have not heard back from them so far? Has anyone else heard from them yet? Conor
