So I've seen that the met are now trialling new criteria to become a PC! You need to speak a second language! ( http://www.metpolicecareers.co.uk/newconstable/ ) Heard about this a little while ago, didn't think they were actually going ahead with it so soon. Thoughts?

Good evening! I recently applied to become a Met PC (second language pilot scheme) and completed the online assessments last week. I was quite confident I had performed well...until I got the email saying I hadn't reached the pass mark. A total reality check! I must admit I had totally underestimated the online assessments when there is obviously some kind of technique to perform well in them, something I didn't even think about. Luckily, I've been offered the chance to resit them and was wondering if any of you is/ has been in the same position? The email was quite vague and stated the Met is not allowed to give feedback at this stage so I'm not sure if I under perfor…

My question is regarding the application process as someone who has spent the last few years abroad. After finishing school I went and took about 2.5 years out as a gap year that got extended. Now that I am back I will be attending University and wanted to volunteer as a Special for the Met. However I found out that while I was consistently a resident of the UK during my time abroad (as I was never intending to stay overseas for a long period and my 'home' never changed) this still seems problematic in terms of becoming a special as I have not been consistently living in the UK for the last 3 years, which is a requirement. I did come back to the UK during my time abroa…

I did post in Borough Specific but it seems there is no Wandsworth (WW) borough page. I've been given Wandsworth as my borough (first choice) when I finally pass out and was just hoping for some opinions from officers who are currently or have worked there before. Thanks, - BitFenix45

I have my combined assessment for msc on the 8th of April. I just received an email with an updated information pack with a new framework based interview not the competency based one as stated before. Is this a new thing that has happened? Now im worried about the interview.

Hey guys, I've found out statistics on how many applicants are actually refused due to vetting with the metropolitan police. The results are attached to the post. If you want to read the document yourself you may do so by going to http://www.met.police.uk/foi/pdfs/policies/vetting_policy_eia_v22012.pdf Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

12 August 2015 A man detained on the streets of Hornsey wearing a hockey mask and carrying a Samurai sword has pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon. Abdullahi Hassan Abdullahi, 21 (20.07.94) of Elthorne Road, N19, admitted the offence on Saturday, 8 August, at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court. He will appear in custody for sentencing at Blackfriars Crown Court on Tuesday, 1 September. Shortly after midnight on Friday, 7 August, police received reports of a group of youths in Hornsey Road, N19, armed with bricks and sticks. I'm 18, had my specials assessment for the met, passed it, vetting came back perfect and now I've been on a training course in October (I've been told this is super fast considering my assessment was only in June). Being that I'm still relatively young I'm full of energy and honestly if my training started tomorrow I'd be over the moon! I was wondering if there's anything you guys would suggest I do in the meantime! Any study materials, books, etc etc. Thank, - Bitfenix45

Hi guys, I passed the sift stage and have been invited for interview (Met Police force). In the email they ask for certain documents to prove my identity and address I live in. So I am not worried about the identity, but worried about the address as I live with my parents and I do not get bills or any other things, also I do not receive bank statements as I turned it off from online banking. So I do not have any of the listed items, bu have letter from HM Revenue & Customs that states my full name and address. It is a tax document for financial year of 2015 to 2016 (recent). Would that work or I still need to somehow get bank statement? Any information would …
