Do your shifts start soon after your attestation parade or can it sometimes take a longer time due to delays ? My attestation, finishing date is around in July and I am just wondering when I will be realistically starting due to holidays etc, especially as its the Met and there always appears to be a backlog. Thanks

Hi all, Long time reader, first time poster. Be kind please... I'm in a county force working (as the name suggests) in the cyber/fraud specialism & am interested in the Met's FALCON/SO15 opportunities. My query is that I don't quite tick all the boxes for their current recruitment campaign - in that I'm a PC in a suit. Albeit a PC with over a decade in, numerous nationally accredited cyber/fraud skills and I started the ICIDP process with my current force. However: They changed the rules midway & having passed the exam, done level 2 interviewing courses - they've decided that you have to give up your current posting and go for a generic TDC application to ge…

To those attested Specials, did you arrive for 0800 and did it matter if you arrived between 0800 and 0900? How close to 0900 did you arrive and was it OK?

I recently passed the OSPRE Part 1 exam. Within a day of the exam results coming out an email was sent out on borough from the SMT asking if any successful candidates wanted Acting Sergeant roles in uniformed posts. I duly replied and was informed a couple of days later that I had an A/PS role on my response team which I have since started. The ERPT model that appears to have been recently adopted is to amalgamate the GPC HOT desk supervisor role into EPRT removing it from a stand-alone role aligned to LPT and now includes night shifts. Thus 3 skippers becoming 4 on a typical response team that share the Hot desk/patrol supervisor roles between them. All of the teams …

Hi guys, I have read that the average application to the MSC takes 26 weeks to be processed and completed. However, I have heard that some people have theirs processed much faster, is there specific times in the year that applications are dealt with more quickly than others? Also on the recruitment section on the Met website, it shows the boroughs that they 'particularly welcome' for MSC applications, Westminister is normally always there. So do the applicants that apply to the particularly welcomed boroughs get their application fast-tracked or prioritised compared to the ones that apply to the boroughs that are not on that list?

Hi All, This is my first post and hoping somebody can help. I have been offered a place as a PC in the MPS and they are just awaiting my acceptance but i wanted to know if someone has experience with my below questions? 1. I live outside of London so i need to commute in and the only real possible way is by car. I have been told that parking at stations is not possible and off street parking is limited. Does anyone know how do current officers commute into London using their cars?or is parking at stations not as bad as they say? I have chosen the outer boroughs of London as it was easier to get to via car. 2. If i opted to commute in via public transport then i face t…

So, recruitment is now open! From what I can gather: -You need to show an "expression of interest" by May 7th -Your application must be submitted by May 22nd -Your application must be supported by s/insp. And B/OCU commander - Your bourough will decide whether you need to be IPS to apply or not. -Training courses start in Autumn. There is also a suggestion that the recruitment process may change for this recruitment cycle. However this is only a rumour. Happy to be corrected if anyone has any other info.

Get there on time, aim to turn up at the very latest at 8:45 so you have time to get settled, have a cup of tea and have a quick chat with your class mates before the lesson starts Wear comfortable clothes that conform to the dress code, the more you figit, the more likely you are to be picked for role plays :D If you are going out on the lash on saturday night don't turn up stinking of booze or indeed still lagging if you have a question, no matter how stupid it is, just ask it, chances are that somebody else will be thinking it. if it does turn out to be the biggest load of rubbish ever to have emminated from your mouth, don't worry about it, it will give you…

Hi all, I have been a fairly frequent browser of this forum recently and thought it time to say hello! Having applied for the MSC in Mid April, I have just received my invite to an Assessment day on the 4th of June. Is there anybody else who is on this one?
