Metropolitan Police (London)

If there's a thread about this already, please direct me to it, otherwise everyone's opinion is welcome. Can people please share their experience of their boroughs so far? Once I get attested I'm looking to change immediately as I'm too close to home for my liking, but the question is where do I go? I'd like to know stuff like, how good are the Inspectors/Sgts, are they helpful towards gaining IPS? How many different experiences have you had or have you been stuck on the same sort of shift since you started? Have you got to go out on response etc? Anything that you guys might think is relevant, please add in!

Hi All I'm an ex Met officer looking at rejoining and was wondering if there's any word on if they are currently taking re-joiners? I've been out for just over 2 years, with 7 years served. I've been in touch with Recruitment via email and received an automated response (and can't find a functional phone number for them anywhere) but was hoping someone here might have some idea? This is a touchy subject, but at the same time realistic. With gun imports at an all time high in London, more foreign gangs, different cultures, when will it be that all Police Officers in London should be armed? Many European Police forces are Armed, in my opinion the London Met should be Armed?

Has anyone else been issued the new baton and Holder that the met are issuing? They have given me one and the baton seems alright to me. However, the holder is terrible. Its cheap and plastic and has started to become loose which means that my baton is very loose in the holder and it has fallen out a few times now. For those that haven't seen the new baton it is not like an asp/Monadnock in that it has a rubber, ribbed type handle. What i am wondering is has anyone else who has been issued this baton been having the same trouble with the holder? If so have they come across a replacement that will work with the new baton. As because it is rubber I am not sure it will wo…

Advise needed from our traffic experts please. I will admit that I'm not the best When it comes to FPN's and one thing my reg colleagues go on about is the Q&A's. Now I don't remember talking about Q&A's at Hendon when it comes to issuing a FPN, but are there specific Q&A's for certant offences?

Good evening, Most of the discussions regarding KEE1 exams for specials are a bit dated, so I thought i would start up a new one to reflect the times now. In the MET the KEE1 exams consist of; 1. THEFT 2. BURGLARY 3. CRIMINAL ATTEMPTS 4. ARREST POWERS 5. ROBBERY 6. ID PROCEDURES 7. CAUSTIONING 8. STOP AND SEARCH 9. TVC I just had one today, and most people failed on either Robbery, Burglary and/or criminal attempts. I am hear to tell you the exams are hard! If it was easy than the streets would be flooded with incompetent police staff. I can not stress how important it is to understand the definitions and the legislation. Hello, I got my intake on the 9th of March, full-time course, Special Constable. Was wondering, if anyone else will be there! Also, what can I expect from Day 1, Hendon. P.S: My vetting are still pending, but they emailed me couple of weeks back to email them proof of address. I guess that's good news, as they have started my vetting process. Also, they have confirmed the borough I will be working at. Thanks
