Hi everyone, I was wondering if anybody in the know or even those already serving in the Met could give an insight into what the £6500 London weighting allowance consists of? Is it more money into my salary each month or is it £6500 in benefits such as discounted memberships/gym passes etc. The reason I ask is because the way the Met worded it on their website in my opinion sounds more like the latter so I thought I would check. Also having started a new topic i might as well clear a few other things up. I have recently passed my day two and they have told us to wait and not expect to hear anything for a while. Anybody know how long I can expect to wait for and what …

First of all thanks for this amazing forum I have been a member for a while (1st every post) and love looking at the forum every day! As a non member in the police, but wanna be when a bit older (is there a junior member thing I have been trying to find that for a while) I am love watching Met police clips on youtube and wondered if anyone has any good Fly on the wall type clips/ documentaries as the Met never seem to appear on any? Was having a browse in the recruitment section of another police forum, and it seems the MET are gearing up to change the way CKP is delivered. From what people are saying, starting in a few months time, the MET will be putting candidates through Day 1 and 2 as normal, then paying them at Band 0 for 6 weeks to complete the CKP in house with them, then moving them on to the normal training. You would have to pay back the cost of CKP over 2 years probation. Have a nosey: http://www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk/index.php?/topic/53687-changes-to-ckp/

I've been booked on the intensive course next month as this is the most suitable for me, been trying to get on a course since August and this one was perfect due to university. But I have just found out that I have a final term exam on the first day of training which I cannot miss. Will I be able to start training later that day? How does it work? thanks

This question has probably been exhausted, however I've recently started my sc training, and I would like to in the future progress to becoming a PC. I was just wondering how long and difficult the process is, for example when is it advised to apply to become a regular after specials training, how long after you've achieved IPS? or are there certain intake dates? Also on average how long does the process span over? Any questions or insights to the stages would be much appreciated
