Hello, Few weeks back an email was sent to me, saying that I have passed the sift process. My date is 5th of November 0830 hours. However, I was not given an English sample paper to prepare myself with, nor did they specific what I should expect in the interview. I will be grateful if anyone could give me heads up in advance. P.S: It is for Special Constable Thanks in advance.

Good morning! Interesting forums to read through, have been browsing for a while, and last week passed the combined Day 1 / Day 2 doobery (7 of 35 of us got to the end). It does seem nicer having it all in one day though from what I've heard. If anyone is curious, the Day 1 / Day 2 combined thing seems a bit unknown. So a rough idea is below: 08:30 - Start at Empress House, through security, x-rayed and wished "good luck with your career here" by security, which was a pretty friendly touch. Loaf around reception for a while until someone came to check us in. 08:45 - Taken up many floors to what seemed to be the recruiting floor. Given a quick intro in how the day woul…

Hi all. After a gruelling two month wait I am still none the wiser on either vetting or references. What makes it worse is that I have just read a thread of guys who have had their day 2 two weeks after mine and already had their references contacted! Im still on Stage 8 on the application portal, and everytime i ring HR they tell me they cant deal with anything and have put an 'urgent call back request,' for someone to ring me back and they never do! Am i correct in assuming there is something they dont like with/or indeed I have failed my vetting?! Also i tried to ring vetting direct, however you wait in a queue for about 25 minutes for it then to say "we are havin…

I wondered if there was a "invasion of Privacy" law that prevents the Public from just randomly filming Police officers. For example I can't just walk up to a random person and start filming them, or their kids etc So why should the public be able to randomly film the Police.

Don't suppose anyone is on QK? If so do they know when they're likely to be opening up to new specials?

So I read in older threads if you fail the bleep test, you can come back in 6 weeks to re-do it, is that still true or is it outdated now? 15m is 49 steps, right? I don't have a tape measure so I counted it out like that.

So I've just completed my Day 2 Assessment and booking at the CKP course ASAP. However I have two big questions. 1) Can i get funding from the Met for the CKP course. 2) Is initial training housed? so the first 10 weeks or so at hendon. I'm not a special, but just a Police Constable? but live outside London, and find it very expensive!!

Just last week I was going through our team's arrests and noticed we probably get about 23 give or take a month and the average MSC officer gets 5 a month on the TCT i'm on. I don't really know much about other MSC teams outside my borough but is 20-25 about right per TCT (Town Centre Team)? We have four Teams in total on our borough that are primarily specials that are supervised by one dedicated PC.
