Hi everyone, I'm currently in the process of becoming a Police Constable for the MET. I've passed my day 1 completed my CKP and have my day 2 on the 28th of November. As instructed I sent off my vetting forms within the time frame asked per the MET (3 days) which was this time last month. My problem is that I'm not sure If I should of declared an incident that happened back in 2009. What happened is that I was messing around on a building site in a park which was not closed off to the public as a fence for it had blown over. I had no malicious intent being on the building site (No workers were there at the time) but was simply swinging on scaffolding messing about, I…

So what are the general thoughts here, should the Met keep the London residency criteria or do away with it?

I tried to submit this topic in the Recruitment section but when I clicked the link it said I don't have permission to see the threads there. Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but do you "graduate" from the training program, like with a ceremony or is it just a normal "hey you passed, congratulations" thing? The reason I'm asking is I was discussing training with my mum and she asked me the question and I realised I didn't know myself. Also when I say ceremony I know it won't be like a University style graduation with the gowns and caps, I mean more like a formal occasion where family can come and see me receive a certificate, take pictures etc. Any help is a…

I was on a foundation degree/entry scheme for TVP, so was trained to probationary (regular) PC level, and worked on response in Oxford, as part of a specific shift and just crewed with a regular, though could have done stuff on my own but for lack of driving ticket. A couple of specific questions, do/can Met specials work response or are they limited to Neighbourhood? Do they work independently of shift, or can they jump in with regular shift callsigns as per my TVP experience? Also, am I right in thinkin…

I know another random Question. However I hardly ever see the Met police eating in public, or even going into a Burger bar, or fast food takeaway etc. Is there a genuine rule to say they are not allowed? Or are they just more polite than NYPD officers? Who seem to be eating all the time according to Google images

https://www.flickr.com/photos/neil-gordhan-photography/15649038861/ Found this pic of what is a new Met 5 series. 2 litre engine apparently and it has tracker aerials fitted so possibly an RT car or an ANPR Intercept team vehicle? Anyone know more? Certainley looks good though.
