Dear all HT specials, Just wondering if I can ask some questions about the borough as my attestation date will be in July and it looks like I will be starting at the beginning of August. 1. What is your opinion of the borough, advantages and disadvantages ? 2. Is the chain of command and management effective, or does it look like I will be waiting a while for my kit and shifts to be implemented after I attest. 3. Is Tower Hamlets special friendly ? 4. Lastly, can you give me a general overview of what to expect on shifts and such. All the best, looking forward to joining you in the summer.

Hey i looked for a bit but couldn't find anything similar to this so thought i'd start a new thread. I was just curious as to know everyones opinions on the best discounts or benefits you get through being a police officer, share your stories, be it food, days out, insurance, etc. I'm having a boring sunday and i'm just interested. Have a good weekend everyone!

Hello All, Does anybody know how you go about in organising a community engagement event with students. Something like this - http://content.met.police.uk/News/YouTube-Diary-of-a-Badman-star-visits-school/1300000817565/1257246745756-title=YouTube ?

Hi all. This is my first post. It concerns the acceptable level of sickness absence in current job when applying for a new constable role in the MPS. Does anyone know what it is or how they calculate it. Or, has anyone out there had their application terminated due to poor attendance? Cheers everyone!

Hi all I wonder if anyone can shed some light on specialisms in the Met? I know there's the mandatory 2 year probationary period before anyone is considered for a specialist role. Are specialisms rather difficult to get in to or are there regular openings? Any advice is welcome! Do you have any particular desires to specialise?

It's been nearly 6 months since I registered my interest as an external applicant to the Met. The process has been long-winded and longitudinal. I emailed them a while back and they got back to me with: Is anyone else applying having this issue? Even with emails it took them well over a month to get back to me. My signature has my recruitment timeline information. It does seem on their own recruitment timeline they state maximum 16 weeks is what we should be expecting depending on individual circumstances. My Day 1 results are yet to come back. It's 3 weeks and 3 days now (24 days) since i've taken it.
