Hi all....I'm new here, just thought I'd see if anyone wants to have a bit of banter whilst we wait for our start dates!!! I'm 3/4 of the way through Met recruitment phase and I am 31, will be 32 in February....I feel really old and am not looking forward to being shown up by young whippersnappers!!! How old is everyone else?!

So I was a special between 2006 and 2009 until I joined the regulars. I'm now a DC and have just resigned to pursue a better career in the private sector. However, as much as I like moan about the job, part of me will miss it. 9 years with a warrant card! A few have suggested coming back as a special. So...does anyone know of any DCs who became specials. Would it even be possible? What paperwork/tests/vetting is required? Would I have to do ost/els over again? Any work around to keep my title as a DC? Who's authority would I need to become permanently attached to the CID? Thanks

So, MSC > PC recruitment is now open! From what I can gather: -You need to show an "expression of interest" by May 7th -Your application must be submitted by May 22nd -Your application must be supported by s/insp. And B/OCU commander - Your bourough will decide whether you need to be IPS to apply or not. -Training courses start in Autumn. There is also a suggestion that the recruitment process may change for this recruitment cycle. However this is only a rumour. Happy to be corrected if anyone has any other info.

Hi All, Passed my Day 1&2 yesterday and was given a provisional start date of Oct 18th subject to vetting. Came home last night and tried to open the docs on the second email I received but they won't open. They are the RV .pdf and the Instructions word document. I have tried my desktop, laptop, brothers laptop, Iphone, Ipad and Kindle fire and they just won't open! Has anybody else had similar issues? I've already emailed Met HR asking them to resend but just wondered if anybody else had the same issue?

Hi i know someone who passed all assessments but as he did not live in London fell foul of the residential rule. Did anyone start there application process over this period your dates starts and submission of application would be useful. It may help him appeal. Thank you all.

hi everyone, good old CKP time haha. im starting mine in next few weeks what is it like? is it hard?Just waiting on that then once I have it I will get references sent out then I can start yay!!
