Has anyone completed the CKP in 2014/2015 before the revised CKP qualification was changed in 2016? I completed it in 2015 but only joining the MET POLICE in Feb 2017. It states in their new starters email that they will not go over anything previously covered in the CKP and will only build on it. It also states and emphasizes that you need to arrive on your first day with your knowledge refreshed and up to date. I have started going over my notes and using the Blackstones. However I am just wondering if anyone has experience the same thing and how they found their first few days/weeks? I am worried I might struggle to keep up with people who have do…

Hi, I have recently passed my assessment day for MSC. Hoping to join as a regular once I have accrued 200 hours as a special. Does anyone know how often the Met police have internal vacancies for Police constables? Is it an on-going vacancy or do they have only 1 or 2 internal intakes a year? Does the London residency rule apply to MSC applying for PC. I was thinking of getting Blackstone's Police Operational Handbook 2017 to try and get a head start. Is this book any good? Thanks

Greetings everyone, I took my day two assessment sometime in September for the met as a PC, and I haven't heard back from them yet. None of my references have been checked either. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on whether to contact the met or not since you are told contacting them in that regard will only slow down your application?

Hi All, Quick question, i have received my Day 2 which is 2 weeks away. I can pass all the fitness tests as required . However my BMI is over the maximum amount. I just wondered what options will be available to me as I can lose the necessary weight given a month or two. I just wondered what the MET does regarding this, is there any leeway, if i fail my day 2 because of BMI results. Does my Day 1 results remain so i can apply for a day 2 later on or do I have to start the whole process again. Any advice would be much appreciated. Regards

Hello everyone, Today I received an email from the recruitment team that my pre-employments checks have been successful and I'm starting my training on the 18th February weekends course. I am so happy I would like to ask if anyone from here is attending this course? Also does anybody know the intranet address and how do you gain access? Many thanks, Spiros

In the conditional offer for the MET, it states that you will be allocated your FDC and borough which cannot be changed. Do they take into account your posting preference given during recruitment? The following FDC training centres are Marlowe House - Sidcup, Sovereign Gate - Richmond, Peel Centre - Hendon. I live in Croydon so would struggle to get to Sidcup. Has anyone had any issues with the FDC and borough allocation? Thanks!

Morning, I left the MSC just over two years ago after about 6.5yrs service, and was a T/SPS when I left. I have done some fun things in the meantime, but am now considering rejoining. I have no interest in going back to being a supervisor, I just want to find an interesting role where I can get stuck in. Two questions: a) What is the process for a rejoiner after a break of 2-3 years? b) What is the current situation with interesting jobs for the MSC? When I left they had pretty much got rid of everything other than Borough-based units walking around in hi-vis, but I've heard bits and pieces about various more specialised units now taking specials. Thanks,
