I'd like to get some clarification before going ahead with an investment for the future. I'd like to buy off Amazon: Blackstones Police Manuals (4 volume set), however there is also what seems like the same set but with Q&A's named as Blackstones Q&A (4 volume). Anyone with knowledge about these two sets, could you kindly clarify a few points for me? Is the normal 4 volume set just textbook reading, and is the Q&A version a book of questions based on that set? Or is it the same set with the reading but with Q&A's at the end of it? Hi all, As i've made mention to in another post you may or may not have seen, my application to join the regulars for the MPS is at the vetting stage, as I am almost complete with my CKP, I have a conditional offer to start training 31st July this year. I was emailed by a vetting officer who asked a question about address I am linked to financially, in this case one I worked at for nearly a year, having taken out credit agreements before I know they ask this when searching your credit report, or when you are taking out a new agreement of some sort, to confirm your identity. So I've been put on the CKP course on 10th of April and the 31st May PC in take. I Just had a couple questions about day to day activities for a PC. How often/long will you be patrolling on foot etc. Will there be times where you are just on a desk? What is the initial 6 week training like? Are there different squads or something you get assigned to? Any information like this would be very helpful.

Hi All, Just wanted to get some advice from fellow staff/members alike. I have been having a multitude of issues with MET HR (recruitment and staff) with my MSC-PC Application. Applied in October 2016 and submitted my vetting forms and other required items accordingly was asked a few questions to confirm details. Delayed my Day 1 till Mid January as I had Surgery's which meant I couldn't attend initial Day 1. Passed my Day 1, did my Day 2 on the mid February however was not advised not to do Fitness test due to severe cold. Did my rescheduled fitness test on the mid March 2017. Passed successfully. I have just received an email from MET saying that due to one or more aspects of my file still outstanding there the conditional offer to start on 26th June is now withdrawn I will be notified again once that get completed. I am really confused that does that means my vetting failed. I have replied but no answer yet. Anyone has any idea about similar experience. My hopes are shattered ??

I was told on my Day 2 that I would need to get my relevant Vaccinations done before the start of training and I would be reimbursed for the costs when I got to my borough. Everywhere I have asked about it has told me that as the employer The Met is responsible for getting me vaccinated. So where do I get them done? Hey! After the most stressful (not as stressful as a lot of others) process I have finally received the good news. Just got my CKP Start date for 10 April 2017. Training start date in Hendon for 30 May 2017 (received this two weeks ago subject to vetting). Anyone else on this intake? Also, can anyone tell me when they take my references? Vetting is done and got the CKP start date today.
