In all my 32 years service in the Police I never came across Ambulance Staff, who were nothing more than totally professional, never complained about anything, except slow ambulances, not like the militant Fire Brigade. It is therefore sad to read about ambulance men who have refused to attend emergencies while on their meal breaks, several deaths have occurred due to late attendance of ambulances, and in Yorkshire two staff have just been sacked for failing to turn out to a 999 call. It's a good job Police Officer don't refuse to turn out during meal breaks, although alot in my old force are lucky if they get a break at all, they are often too busy.

But, then again, I might be making it up.Graham2007-02-04 21:16:10

This probably belongs in Police Discussion, but it's not crucial. Do all ranks get lockers in a station or only officers below a certain rank or only those that don't get offices?

TO THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO, HE IS THE MARICOPA COUNTY SHERIFF( ARIZONA ) AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. These are some of the reasons why: Sheriff Joe Arpaio created the "tent city jail" to save Arizona from spending tens of million of dollars on another expensive prison complex. He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them. He banned smoking and porno magazines in the jails, and took away their weightlifting equipment and cut off all but "G" movies. He says: "they're in jail to pay a debt to society not to build muscles so they can assault innocent people when they leave." He started chain gangs t…

Two Crocodiles were sitting at the side of the swamp near the lake in Canberra. The smaller one turned to the bigger one and said, "I can't understand how you can be so much bigger than me. We're the same age, we were the same size as kids. I just don't get it." "Well," said the big Crock, "what have you been eating?" "Politicians, same as you," replied the small 'Croc. "Hmm. Well, where do you catch them?" "Down the other side of the swamp near the parking lot by the Parliament House." "Same here. Hmm. How do you catch them?" "Well, I crawl up under one of their Lexus cars and wait for one to unlock the car door. Then I jump out, grab them by the leg…
