Speaker's residence bill revealed As well as spending more than £700,000 on his official residence since 2001, it seems that our beloved Speaker has also spent over £100,000 a year on furniture, art, and air conditioning. This is the man who is carrying out a review into MP's expenses. I'm just glad that this review is being carried out by someone who is neutral and who does not have his snout in the trough. How many more revelations of scandal can this government endure? Surely it is time someone called foul and tabled a motion of no confidence.

There will soon be a vote in the commons over the human fertilisation and embryology bill. This is being backed by many charities who believe that research of this nature will allow great advances in treatments for a multitude of ailments and diseases. This has also started a big row over whether MPs should follow the party whip or be allowed a conscience vote. I am all for research and advancing knowledge, but where will it end? Is it OK to create chimera so that we can live a few more weeks in an old people's home? Is it OK to carry on trying to extend people's lives, ultimately to extend our lives indefinitely? What is the point of physically living for ever, in a…

Your politics might be partly genetically determined "As far as Dr Hibbing is concerned however, the possibility of genetic political influences might lead to more political tolerance. "If people accept that others have different political views, not because they are bull-headed, but because they are predisposed to believe those things then I am hoping that will take a lot of rancour out of politics." I think Dr hibbing is being naive. If people were generally intelligent, it might do but I think it will mean less tolerance. And perhaps this is paranoid, but I can foresee a future where if your genes don't fit the politics of those in power, you'r…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7314726.stm If you are going to tell lies you need to have a bloody good memory. Hillary surely would have remembered bullets flying overhead, but obviously not, because it didn't happen. I wonder how many more porkies she has told during her campaign.Maverick222008-03-26 17:13:32

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7312741.stm Just about what I would expect from this Labour Shower. They let in thousands of immigrants that arrive in the back of lorries, or hidden under trains, but a soldiers wife is refused entry. Priorities in correct order comes to mind. HMG let that trouble maker, one eyed, hook man, stay here, claiming thousands a month for his nine kids, but the wife of a serving soldier has to go.Maverick222008-03-25 16:11:30

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_east/7314683.stm Should this man be punnished further for his atrocious driving, by losing his job as Headmaster. I believe yes, he is not a good example for children to follow. No doubt he will appeal and those 'lefties' will allow him back.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7307961.stm What a two-faced PM we have in Gollum Brown. After all the things Gollum called Ken a few years ago, he is now campaigning on his behalf and telling all and sundry what an excellent fellow he is. A PM who cannot make up his mind.

ITVs new police Drama, anyone going to be watching it? Heres the Press Release: London 1966. DC Frank Taylor is an ambitious police officer weeks away from his dream posting with the Flying Squad. Life hasn't treated Billy Porter well since his national service in the Far East - a job doesn't come easily to a young man with a borstal record. Tony Meehan has a way with words - perfect qualifications for a casual reporter on one of the more salacious red tops on Fleet Street. The lives of these three men become inextricably linked on the day after the World Cup Final.

What a role model for youngsters. Disqualified from driving, for Drink Driving. Disqualified three times for excessive speed. Missed a drugs test and fined £50,000 and banned from playing for eight months, his excuse, 'he had gone shopping'. A man who loves to film himself 'roasting'. I think the manager needs a brain transplant. David beckham would have been a much better choice, or even Steven Gerrard.Maverick222008-03-26 08:58:41
