Did anyone see the flying penguins or the ice racing greyhounds? What other April Fools jokes were there?

The other day I met a bloke I have known for more years than I care to remember, perhaps more than 25 years. When I first met him, he was a nasty little scrote, fighting, thieving and generally up to no good. He did have one of those cheeky and cheerful dispositions though. He had battered a few bobbies in his younger days, by virtue of his considerable skills at judo, got battered back, and did time for it in various juvenile detention houses. His life went further awry, and he has been a pimp, drug dealer (and user), enforcer and general yardie type hard man. I didn't see him for perhaps more than a decade. Perhaps nearly 15-18 years or more. Wh…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=552370&in_page_id=1770 Another MP trying to make out he is abit of a 'Lover Boy'. Take most with a large pinch of salt, divide by ten, and you are probably near the truth. Another Prescott in the making. Why don't these people just keep their private lives private.Maverick222008-04-01 13:54:54

I have got into walking for a great way to spend time off and holidays. I've pretty much exhausted my area for places to go, and am considering a week in either Scotland or The Lakes. I have never visited either I'm almost ashamed to say, but have heard they are spectacular (and seen on the TV). Do any of you good people know either of these areas? Can anyone pm me with good places to go with walking in mind? Whisper2008-03-30 21:21:00

A crematorium has come up with a novel solution for mourners unable to get to a loved one's funeral. Southampton Crematorium has launched a pay-per-view scheme that allows them to watch the funeral online. For a one off fee of £75 friends and family are able to view the funeral service live on their computer screen via a video camera placed discreetly in the chapel. A password protected site will enable mourners to view the ceremony online for up to seven days after the event. The company behind the scheme, Wesley Music, is also offering DVDs of funerals for £50 or audio recordings for £25. The company says that the internet service is intended as a way of helpi…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/columnists/columnists.html?in_article_id=550769&in_page_id=1772&in_author_id=256&in_check=N I always thought Des Browne was a 'dipstick', this story convinces me . No wonder the MOD is such a rubbish department, if Browne concentrated on the MOD and gave up his post as Minister for Scotland, things might improve, but with a mindset like Browne's , I doubt it.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/mar/31/channelfive.television Just reading about this new series was quite shocking- some of the incidents operators view are quite unreal the one where, just makes you wonder what goes thorugh CCTV operators minds when they see someone trying to kill themselves yet they cant do anything about it.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cambridgeshire/7318247.stm Sorry lad, no sympathy for you whatsoever. If you hadn't been trying to steal you would not be in pain. A similar incident in Southampton ended in the death of a thief who tried to cut through a high voltage wire.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/cornwall/7317721.stm This might be a complex case, but two years to sort it out is a disgrace. The Coroner should be making the authorites get the reports to her as quickly as possible. If a Police Officer took two years over a report disciplinary action would follow. Some Coroners seem to think they are 'God's gift to the Country'. This is the same Coroner who said there wasn't enough evidence to give the cause of death as suicide, when a bloke cut his throat in Woolworths, Penzance. She recorded an Open Verdict, the man cut his own throat with a Stanley Knife infront of many shoppers.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/worldnews.html?in_article_id=540453&in_page_id=1811 It's difficult to believe that people can be so thick as to allow this to be done to them, the parents must be dimp to allow it, and the authorities. Idiots, the lot of them.
