I've just seen an advert for the Help for Heroes charity, in which they claim to have raised millions of pounds to help wounded soldiers. Most importantly - I think it's a great and worthy cause. However - why does it take charitable donations to support our troops who have risked their lives and sustained terrible injuries in serving their country? No expense should be spared in providing injured services personnel with the treatment and rehabilitation they need.

The reason for this is PC Bill Barker died trying to save people and also saved many more lives when the Northsouth bridge collapsed killing him during the floods in NOV 2009. It would be a fitting Memorial to PC Barker for doing his duty far above the call of duty. If we get enough votes in YES his family will be informed of what the idea is. As we would hate to hurt the feelings of a family that has lost a loved one. Only one vote is permitted.ranroz2009-11-30 14:18:56

Competition. Win one of three great prizes by being the one of the first three to solve the “Who Dun It” to the salisfaction of the moderators. Below is a passage about a theft at “Clichéd Mansion.” This will give you a stonking great clue as to what the Simply Splendid Prizes are, and set the scene of the mystery which you need to solve. But you will need more information, which you have to ask for specifically and earn by answering quiz-type questions. It should be fun exercising ze leetle grey cells anyway, but these great prizes make it well worth playing. <?:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /> How to enter and general rules are given after the passage. …

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_west/8427988.stm To put it crudely, religious fervour can drive you nuts... but you tend to get over it. That of course, is a sweeping statement, but it could explain why some people see visions when they are exposed to a religious experience. And it's worth remembering that in ths study 100 years ago, people were suffering extreem stress, whixch is probably an important factor in the delusions.

GOVERNOR, 86, RESIGNS OVER 3-WOMAN SEX TAPE The 86-year-old governor of a southern Indian state resigned, a day after a television news channel broadcast a tape allegedly showing him in bed with three women. Pressure mounted on Gov. Narain Dutt Tiwari to quit after the tape allegedly showing him in bed with three women was broadcast Friday, prompting the opposition and women's right groups to hold street protests in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh's state capital, demanding his resignation. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8428181.stm On the radio this morning comment was made that the descision whether to prosecute will not be in the hands of the CPS as such, but that the DPP, Keir Starmer will decide, rather than the top man in the CPS. That can hardly be independent because Keir is a NuLabour appointee. He is an establishment man who will no doubt say that it is 'not in the public interest', abit like the 'cash for honours', John Yates debacle.(the very greasy Lord Levy and Teflon affair) I can see this fading into the long grass. Hello everyone, I am sorry I have been so quiet lately. Truth be told, when I had my A/C and i felt i really cocked it up, I got rather down. Not that I'm weak minded but It just saddened me to feel I did poorly in something that meant so much to me. Needless to say the last two weeks have been HELL, feeling pretty down etc, I even considered new career paths, such as HATO (Kenners ). But I got my result back today and Wahey! I passed, that was a shocker, TRUST ME. So just saying I am now back in business and hope you all have A LOVELY CHRISTMAS! and drive safe because of the snow and don't eat too much, itl only slow you down Chris

If i got up at say 0800 and the missus was still asleep, id leave her asleep. Because shes obviously asleep for a reason. Shes tired. I wouldnt wake her up, no matter what time she slept til, unless she had asked to be woken at certain time. So how come that if she gets up before me, she wakes me within the hour. Im obviously asleep for a reason, im tired! Now is this a woman thing or just my missus??
