In the coming years of austerity, it may be wise for everyone to contemplate ways in which they can save money without compromising their standard of living. Where I live in rural Sweden, the cost of living is relatively high and it's not so easy to just nip out to the shop if you run out of something because of the distances involved - plus it uses precious petrol to do so. I never cease to be amazed at the range of skills my neighbours have at their fingertips to save a few bob here and there. For a start, just about all my neighbors make jam. One makes strawberry, another makes blackcurrant and another makes a beautiful apple and blackberry. Then they swap jars. An…

A quiz for Police Officers: “You’re walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges. You are carrying a Glock .40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?” British POLICE OFFICER’S Answer: ” Well, that’s not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possi…

ITV has apologised to its HD channel viewers after a "transmission problem" caused them to miss England's first World Cup goal. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/10302816.stm Yes, i went through this problem, mind you had i missed the whole match i would have missed much. we may have some good players, but the will to win is just not there. Very few if any would make it into the Brazil team, even thou the pundits keep going on about "World class" World class what exactly, certainly not world class footballers.

Whoever's team wins the world cup will win the sweepstake. No idea of a prize yet but will probably be or Good luck and lets hope this doesn't flop! That's the transliteration of the Arabic for "compensation" in my dictionary. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/10347242.stm Oddly it was the first thought that crossed my mind on hearing the BBC report that the UKBA beat deportees onto and off the plane taking the failed claimants back to iraq. One of them, Sherwan Abdullah, a Kurd, told the BBC he and others had been beaten by UKBA personnel to force him off the plane in Baghdad. "They was grabbing us, they told us if you don't come down, we're gonna beat you badly, and we're gonna take you out," said Mr Abdullah. Asked if this happened on the plane, he said: "Yes on the plane. If so…

Hello all, I am looking for some serious advice on how to tone up properly and diet. I have read over a dozen articles and seen a hundred videos on youtube/online and most contradict each other. I am a 20 year old student weighing in at about 11stone. I have skinny legs and army with an average, undefined torso. I am looking to improve my fitness and my muscle toning. I would like to improve legs, arms, abs, pecs and my back. I know it will take a lot of hard work and effort but I am willing to put it in. I also know I need to lose a bit of body fat percentage for definition, is it possible to lose body fat but still have energy to gain muscle toning? I am seeking a ser…

Ladies and Gentlemen. This morning I had a revelation. Surely Saturday mornings are reborn....... 1030hrs to 1100hrs. Stupidity has come a long way since TISWAS. Actually it hasn't, which is just as well. There is something satisfyingly funny in watching grown men shout "BOGEYS" in a public place at increasingly louder volumes (it's much funnier watching it than explaining it). And then following that with a group of kids throwing custard pies at grannies (not real ones, grannies that is - the custard pies were real). I've a feeling that it's meant for kids, but as is the way with these things, it's too good for them, but has to have them involved otherwise it wou…

Protesters Clash during Military Parade in Barking Far right nationalists clashed with Muslim extremists as the Royal Anglian Regiment marched through Barking after returning from deployment in Afghanistan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp9_FE6AJTM This could be the reason that some put this on MoD Oracle Forum CROSSING BORDERS: IF YOU CROSS THE NORTH KOREAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET 12 YEARS HARD LABOUR. IF YOU CROSS THE IRANIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU ARE DETAINED INDEFINITELY. IF YOU CROSS THE AFGHAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET SHOT. IF YOU CROSS THE SAUDI ARABIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE JAILED. …
