Did anyone watch this? Basically Private Detectives were selling private, non-public domain info like medical records, bank account detains NI number, CRO information, which shows that the whole system is vulnerable to the right price or the wrong people being a bit stupid. Some bloke also said he'd been used unofficially by the Metropolitan Police to do the dirty work which they can't because it's illegal. I didn't believe that, becauswe I think it was part of bigging himself up, sales-patter if you will. If he really did that no way would he have admitted to that to a client because the gain to loss would have made it not worth while. I hope these people get their co…

Just watching this on Ch4+1. Very interesting programme on the unregulated private detective industry. They're obtaining the personal info of people really very easily. What I find interesting is the value on certain things - £350 to find out a National Insurance number and £250 to find out what benefits he's claiming. I am beginning to appreciate the strict vetting that we get in the police service even more. Worth checking out on 4OD later.

So I looked through the window this morning and noticed a bloke was stealing all the gates in my street. I didn't say anything though, in case he took offence. :new_yummy:

PoliceSpecials.com is now back online. After what many of you may feel is an inordinate amount of time offline, we are now at a point where we feel we can bring the forums back online. Much of the down-time was due to a problem with a forum update that caused unexpected delays. We have unfortunately had to restore the database from the 21st April at around 18:00 hrs. This means that any posts, private messages or topics posted after that time will have been lost. We apologise for the inconvenience and as always are working to make sure that this does not happen again. If you are still having any problems with the site, please post here and let us know. Please do not ma…

Hi Folks, as you may or may not know "Cuddles" the not so Cuddly Mod has had to stop running the monthly photography competitions due to a lack of time. He has done a fantastic job and has agreed to continue doling out the much coveted "moderators award" to the winners of the new competition. I have taken up the vacant post of competition organiser/supremo. I promise not to rig the votes in my favour.... honest! The new competition will be starting on April 1st (no.... honestly!) The entry criteria and format will remain the same. (the photos must be hosted on flickr and shared in the monthly topic) I will also maintain a monthly topic "wall of fame" where winners e…

Did anyone see 'Question Time' on BBC1 last night? What did you think about George Galloway's runaway victory in Bradford, do you think he is sincere, or do you think that he 'played to the masses' to win his seat? What do you think about George and his party in general?
